"Why, oh why people bring dogs to Rugby League games I'll never know".: |
|
| Quote: Steinlager "For those who think the moderators made this up let me tell you how (this has worked) and how it always works.
Ultimately the rumour/chinese whispers/lie started somewhere.
One way or another it was passed on to a mod, by a friend of a mod.
The mods are friends, and when one of the says they believe their source..the others believe.
It also wouldn't surprise me if the source was a mutual friend of each mod.
Surprisingly the rumour hits here and all the mods post independentaly on it..hey presto you all think they hoodwinked you.'"
You're right, like I said earlier believing it's a deliberate made up scam is giving it far too much credit.

| MattyB is spot on.
Endacott was given the boot - we were third in the table for Christ sake when that happened.
I can accept not winning, but won't accept our current position in Super League.
The simple truth is this.. we are not improving as a team, not at all. Noble has had a good go, and had longer than some - so enough is enough, time for a change.
If he doesn't go now, we will just drift along to the end of the season.'" ]

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

Well it's funny you should mention that!

We would all try our hardest and so should anyone in the position of Wigan coach it is a priviladged position to have.
IFL is clearly looking out for the future of the club by hoping to appoint a new man next year, we do not know what IFL has told Noble regards the situation or how he has treated him, apart from second of third hand paper talk.'"
Depends if you think the quotes attributed to Noble on the BBC web site are accurate or not. There he basically says he knew IL was sounding out Kearney because of his contacts down under. Don't you find that a bit of a strange situation and find it rather odd our coach is telling the media he has found out what our chairman is doing regarding his (Noble's) job through his mates?

I guess it also depends on who you have the most disdain for - Brian Noble or Ian Lenagan.
In your case, Dave, it's difficult to tell.
Whatever intrigues IL has been getting involved in recently, BN is also playing a political game here. He's applied for other jobs himself when it's suited him, and has been bleating more to the press than any previous Wigan coach I've ever known (on occasion coming over as being rather pathetic: "I can't wait forever"icon_wink.gif. Perhaps if he'd concentrated more on doing his job, these moves to replace him wouldn't have been necessary.
At the end of the day, however it's done, and however people may be offended by the process, we need a better coach than Brian Noble. He's clearly not going to go quietly, but if that's the price we must pay, so be it.

Pooter's deal was agreed nearly 12 months before he joined Saints. Worst kept secret in RL.

I agree I have zero sympathy for BN even if he has not been told officially he has gone, he has played the game well enough and come out on top its about time he lost one.
Last year at contract time the Les Cats story came out, this year it was the Roosters story, he came out of the Bradfor situation looking like some sort of hero despite being an integral part in there decline, he got out just at the right time, so it appears this time he is on the recieving end of it. Live by the sword die by the sword.

I am not sure what that has got to do with it being odd Noble is telling everyone he found out what IL was up to from contacts down under.

So what? Our chairman was supposed to usher in a new era that would move away from the perceived skulduggery of Mo and DW so if BN wants to behave as you describe that does not mean IL should be excused from going about things in a proper manner IMO.

We do need a better coach but the way the whole thing has and is being handled is IMO very poor. It isn't just to do with whether or not BN will be upset about it but what it shows about how IL goes about things. If you want are prepared to accept an "ends justify the means" approach because you want Noblle out that is up to you but your are IMO ignoring the wider picture.

and it was adifferent situation, DA wanted to leave saints and told us when he joined that he would go home after his contract. with a year to go he confirmed this to allow saints to invite applications. Wigan didn't know (and still possibly dont) if they are going to retain Noble or not with less than half a season remaining.

The post reckons the end if nigh for Noble but by the sounds of it he'll do until the end of this season which is no suprise.
The bit that made me laugh is where it says alot of Wigan fans are becoming increasingly unhappy about the treatment of Noble by Ian Lenagan.............are they taking the p*ss? The vast majority of fans would go and clear his desk for him yesterday if it meant he was leaving
