I don't like complaining too much about officials, but (even as a Leeds fan) I can't get on board, as they say, with Mr Cummins on this one. For me it is probably a matter of interpretation of the laws. I think (hard to be sure) that McGuire intended to kick. However I don't for a second think he intended that kick to be a drop kick and simply lost the execution under pressure. I can see that a very inflexible interpretation of the laws might just yield a decision of "try" but for me the common sense decision was the one made on the night.

This is what happens when you apply sense to the decision making. If he was in a position where a dropgoal would have been a viable option then fine but he wasnt he was attempting to kick through and tomkins got his arm as he dropped the ball to kick and this meant it hit the ground first. Simple!

I dont care what Cummins says tbh because he may "make the rules" but hes also wrong all the time. And as for Ganson he will only admit he got it wrong to not make Cummins look stupid to "fall in line" I dont for a second believe that Ganson actually feels he got it wrong.

Cummings does not hate Wigan, nor any team for that matter. He is rank incompetent. Cummings takes over as Controller of Referees, standards decline, rapidly.

I officiate at amature level and regardless of Cummins view and regardless of what direction comes down from above that was a knock on end of story. there is no middle ground, no attempt was made for a drop goal and I would give a knock every time for the same situation without hesitation.

I was speaking to another referee last night who said almost exactly the same thing.

The very fact that Cummins saw fit to show his a**e by making such a public statement is proof enough that this man should not be anywhere near an official post in the RFL, though I'm now starting to believe that idiots like him are appointed by Red Hall in order to make the rest of them look good. That's surely the only explanation.

The most contraversial player in SL is Ryan Bailey, always been a dirty rotten cowardly cheat, why doesn't Cummings pass comment on him? Instead the SL suspends Coley for doing what every player in SL wants to do. Your allowed to to take off Tomkins head, your allowed kick up into Joels eyes in the tackle, rip the ball out and perform mulitple chicken wings.
Oops hold on, there not easy to deal with, so lets pick a easy subject, a technical should it have been, should it not have been incident. Cummings is a pathetic idiot who should go away and let the big boys deal with the real matters at hand.
