| Looks like Wigan are going to be making an audacious bid to sign Walmsley, with a possible swap deal on Smith.

True, Cameron Smith is going to Saints in a Higham style move.

List of OOC players there - anybody you'd like to sign?
Dan Sarginson is one who stands out for me. One for the future.
Read good reports about Brad Singleton.
Mickey Paea has always impressed me at Hull KR, if rumours about Lauaki are true I'd love to see us sign him to beef up the pack.
Greg Burke, Liam Carberry, Dominic Crosby, Gil Dudson, Ben Flower, Anthony Gelling, Darrell Goulding, Harrison Hansen, Rhodri Lloyd, Jack Murphy, Paul Prescott, Pat Richards, Tom Spencer, Logan Tomkins, Chris Tuson.
That's our OOC list. I'd sign up most of the players on that list. Burke, Crosby, Dudson, Flower, Goulding, Lloyd get them all signed up 3 year contracts. Carberry, Murphy, Gelling, Tomkins and Spencer have plenty to prove still before anything long-term can be reached. Hansen and Richards need to be kept along with Tuson. Prescott is the only worry on that list. Awesome prop on his day but he can't get himself fit!

Lee Gaskell is a player I think would do well at Wigan.
I think 'NickyKiss' mentioned already that he has a lot of utility value but he is also a player who could potentially fill the boots of Blake Green one day although I don't think he is ready for that yet.
For whatever reason it seems that Gaskell is unhappy at St.Helens and the loan move to Salford is probably just what he needs to put himself in the shop window.

| surely by the time Green is out of contract one of Hampshire, Williams or Powell should be ready to slot into the halves or are these seen as a 1-7-9-13 replacement...??????

| The challenge for wigan will be to provide all of those players with improved contracts given the salary cap.
I think we will have to use gaz hock 60k to provide pay increasesd to those players to enable them to re sign improved new contracts.
The vultures will be circuling and this is where the salary cap will hurt clubs like Wigan who devlop so much talent

| We may have had spare salary cap capacity from last year when some big earners left. Then Gaz Hock went when he was originally included in 2013 cap.
If the like of Sarginson or Gaskell were to be signed they wouldn't command large deals, quite the opposite. Though I do think Gaskell will stay at Salford. He will do well under Longy's rugby coaching.
With so many quality lads at the club it is difficult to see who will leave. If there are to be departures then some difficult decisions will have to be taken.

| It all depends on who stays and who goes. In an ideal world we'd keep everyone off contract bar possibly Gelling and Carberry and also keep Sam Tomkins for one more year (it would be nice if it were longer but I can't even see him being here for 2014 tbh) but we'll wait and see.
If we keep everyone i'd be looking at one of Lee Gaskell, Danny Addy or Dan Sarginson to add some cover to halfbook/hooker positions (Gaskell and Sarginson would provide that by allowing Smith to jump in at 9 if needs be).
Guys like Ian Henderson and Brett Kearney could be good players for us as well but they'd be off limits if everybody stays due to the wage increases we're likely to have to hand out.

I've always liked the look of Sarginson and would like to see him at Wigan, although it does go against my thoughts of allowing the likes of London developing and keeping their own players.
I feel sorry for Liam Carberry, getting that horrific injury may prevent him playing again this year and so diminish his chances of getting a contract renewal.

| Valentine's Day as well haha.
He sounds like a bit of a pleb and at 31 years old, Rogues will have to eat his own words but if Wane/Harris are happy I'll go with it.
