Those with experience of travelling to watch matches at Warrington are not exactly unusued to being goaded, and witnessing flared tempers and scuffles outside the ground. So none of that cuts much ice.

Also, Wigan's team selection is never dictated by threats of violence from the opposition.

I responded that threats of trouble do not (or should not) dictate which player plays and which doesn't. The day the RFL, or any of the clubs, start banning players for fear of crowd violence is the day we have totally given in to the (small and very unimpressive) mob. I don't expect to see it any time soon.

You are suggesting the RFL should have banned a player not because of what he did (an offence which has never attracted any punishment prior to this in recent times when other players did it never mind a ban) but because he is an unpopular player with opposition fans and there might be some trouble outside the ground as a result. I 'm going to stick my neck out and say that even if Warrington beat Wigan on Sunday ( which I don't think they will), Wigan will still win the League Leaders trophy.

I presume Hull will still need a win to cement their position in the top 8 ( may even be going for 6th place) and will thus beat Warrington the following Friday. I predict Warrington will not be able to back up another win 5 days later - this has happened so often in the past few years.

Wigan may yet finish 5 points ahead of Wire.....!
