Pryce has no chance of being picked if Roberts is fit, Richards is fit and Phelps rediscovers his form. His work rate is poor and when he runs the ball back from deep, my 75 year old mother-in-law could tackle him. He did well for Carmonts try and made one good tackle, but what else did he do. I hope he can prove to be a potent weapon for us but i still feels he is a long way short of where he should be.

Fair points, but he's made massive improvements since last season. If he does continue to improve, he could still be a good 'un, IMO.

Big call in my opinion. When Roberts returns I hope he takes the fullback shirt full time, both we as a team and he as a player seem to perform best when he is used at a specialist 1.
One Wing spot is sown up with Richards, so I would hope that the other wing spot is up for grabs with Goulding/Pryce/Phelps/Ainscough all fighting it out for a spot.
Phelps for me is the ex incumbent starting player who is now under most pressure to perform.

| I've said for i long time now that all pryce needs is a decent run in the side (10 games or so). The block hasn't really played for 3 years. I'd love a back 3 of Roberts, Pryce and Richards.

| The run of games is crucial to why Pryce is improving. Yesterday was only his 10th game for our first team.
That and the total w*ankers in the crowd have stopped booing him. The way he has been treated is sickening.
His tackle on Cudjoe yesterday was a game breaker.
He deserves to retain his place over anyone in the backs next week.

| I couldn't make the game because I was working but I am happy to eat my words and I'm really glad he is improving. I have never been ne of the boo boys though. I am still not convinced he is here for the long term though which disapoints me, if he leaves at the end of the season we could have used this time to bring players in who are here for the long term. However, we won't know untill he has a proper run I suppose. I would love to see some signs of him really using his size and strength to break tackles, Joel Tomkins style.

| For some unknown reason a number of so called fans are not happy unless they have at least one player to shoot down.
Discussion on a fans forum is fine, everyone is entitled to an oppinion. But when at a game everyone should get behind all players who don the cherry and white.
It ruined Mathers, Richards and Roberts could have gone the same way.

| I've not seen many of the game recently, but from the highlights and what I keep seeing is that although Goulding keeps scoring, a lot of his tries are handed to him on a plate (not that i'm saying he's not playing well), apart from the one try which he made himself a lot of them seem to be putting the ball down in the corner rather than making game breaking plays. A couple of people on here have also said his defence is still a bit suspect, so i'd like to see Roberts in for Goulding and give Pryce an even longer stretch in the side, as he came up with 2 game breaking plays yesterday with the break for carmont and the tackle out wide.
Basically I think Goulding is playing well, but isn't going to get a lot better and is only ever going to be a stand-in sorta player for us, whereas I still think Pryce could turn in a very good SL player.

However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

| What happens if Amos is fit for next week though?
We then have Amos at FB, with Pat + Goulding on the wings.
Where does KP fit in to that setup?
Don't get me wrong, I thought he did really well yesterday, and like you say, the run & pass plus the try-saver were excellent.
I'm just not sure what happens once Amos returns.
I have to say though - What a nice problem to have.

Goulding doesnt play, on yesterdays showing, Pryce deserves his place more.
That and Roberts wont be back.

That was my point, when Amos is fit again i'd like to see Pryce being given a run in the team ahead of Goulding. Goulding is good, not spectacular, but he does the job and does it well, very rarely is he going to break through the line or make a game changing tackle, KP has the potential to do these things more often, as well as finish all the tries that goulding has this year and provide more meaningful defence.
I think anyone who plays outside of Joel Tomkins this season is going to get a hatful of tries, much like it was on the opposite side when we had Hock.
