Harry Smith badly let the club down with his petulant behaviour this afternoon.

Wishing death on someone even in jest over a rugby game shows a certain lack of brain cells.

We lost this game because we were poor. Nothing to do with the ref.

Give Smith 8 matches and be done with it. No fan of Bentley but doesn’t matter who it is, no need to attack the head and definitely not in the current climate. Asking him to lead the team at his current stage of development is a big ask regardless of Smith’s current and recent form. He’s done it for all the team’s he’s played for though so just chuck him in and see how he does. A bit of a maverick at 7 might help get us out of a very serious slump in form.

The substitutions were poor, for a team half gassed I find it inexcusable to flog lads who have played long minutes in recent games. Mago, Walters and Byrne should have played the bulk of the game. We signed a whole bunch of forwards because we knew we would be in this position but chose not to use them! The Smith incident is inexcusable, game gone no need to do it.
