By the looks of the BBC story Parker has Noticed that little bit about the possibility of Edwards leaving coz of this director of rugby position and decided to put two and two together and make 5 he's an idiot that you can never believe and gets most of his other stuff from rumors on here. Eg Gleeson signing for hull he mentioned that in the sun the day after we had it on this board.

All i can say is lol.

What amazes me is how in one leap this unlikely message board rumour suddenly became certain newspaper fact.

I can't help wondering if 'journalists' like Parker trawl through their lists of 'contacts' on a daily basis, and are often just told anything to shut them up and make them go away.

or ..... fed a lot of bo11ox as a game to see who can get the most ridiculous story into a national paper.

i can imagine his "contacts" have a right royal laugh out of the guys inability to tell the difference between pearls and pigpoo

We should create a few "stories" and get everyone to agree and support the rumour and see if we can get it printed, just to prove once and for all the likes of Dave Parker are stealing a living...

An Everton fans forum did this a few years ago and went to the lengths of making up a foreign sounding name for a player the club was 'about' to sign. 'Henning Lobar' it was if memory serves me right with the 'nailed on rumour' apparently coming from someone in the know at the club. Lobars name appeared in the transfer gossip columns of a Sunday paper as being a signing target or 'situation monitored' closely.

Except that Parker will now have seen this and will be wary of falling into such a trap ... until he realises that he hasn't got anything to flog to the dailies tomorrow.

Tomorrow's sports headline: "Rugby League fans in lying and cheating shocker, a reflection of the state of the professional players?"

The BBC coverage had a pitchside interview with Ian Lenegan prior to Sundays game, during which he stated that the story was ' a complete fabrication'.

However he did say that at some point in the next 10 years he hoped Edwards would be a Wigan coach.

Mentioned he speaks to Edwards fairly regularly (every couple of months) but that he hadn't spoken to him in several weeks.

Confirmed what had been alluded to at the fans' forum that Shaun Wane was still favourite for the head coach job, but that they had received many applications from high calibre candidates.
