Time to get Edwards in NOW!!!

Article in The Sunday Times stating Edwards has rejected both Wigan and Wasps to stay on as defensive coach at Wales.

If this is true, which I don’t think we have any reason to doubt, it is an absolute disgrace for both sides and an embarrassment.

Can’t believe here are still people who would want him! Madness.

Say what you like about IL/KR, but they have tried their best for the club. Edwards, on the other hand, has deliberately screwed you all yet most still think the sun shines from his rear.

For a Saints fan you talk a lot of sense, Edwards should be banned from ever entering the town again arrogant mercenary Ar**hole, he would have been nothing without this town and this club, then to treat us like this is shameful.

Part of me still does want him at Wigan. Almost like “the one that got away”, all this has left a very bitter taste in mine and most other Wigan fans mouths but the over riding feeling I get is what could have been had IL actually signed Edwards instead of a ridiculous handshake.

I do thoroughly believe Edwards would have taken us to the next level, he reminded me of SW funnily enough during the press conference. He came across as bleeding cherry and white and demanding nothing but perfection from his players as per SW. He was portrayed, and came across as, a straight shooter, an honest and loyal man who stood to his word. For that to be thrown back in the Wigan’s fans faces after such a fanfare in the announcement is disgusting.

There’s fault on both sides here. Both sides ought to be ashamed of themselves for the way it was handled and neither come out smelling of roses to us Wigan fans. SE comes out as a hero to the Wales RU fans and once again RL in general is made to look the mugs. I think we all knew this day was coming but right now it feels like another kick in the teeth in an already poor season.

So what now?

I imagine SE non coming will be announced by the club shortly in which case Lam should be given another few months to turn it around. If we’re still looking like we are he should be moved on and a new permanent coach brought in. In any case recruitment for 2020 now needs to be a priority. HB’s, props and a hooker please Mr Lenaghan, oh and do remember to actually have them sign a contract, yes?

The way Edwards has fed uncertainty through the media, tells me he never really wanted to come to Wigan. Even if IL had a contract to wave about, I believe that the only thing Wigan would gain is a compensation payment.

well thank the lord for that he is stopping with wales i think we have dodged a bullet his attitude through all this has been terrible and i fear down the line he will massively regret it.

I wish the club would create a Hall of Infamy and indoctrinate the greedy, more faces than a kipper Edwards as its first member.

The great risk taker looks like he’s bottled it and is staying in his nice n cushy comfort zone as defence coach with Wales rather than putting his head above the parapet and becoming the man to be ‘shot at’ as head coach be it at either Wigan or Wasps.

Amazing. There's been no sign of any Saints fans on this board for well over a year, and suddenly, not-so-mysteriously, they're reappearing again.

This one is a particularly good example of their obsession's depth.

Not content with the current Shaun Edwards fiasco, this specimen has to try and extend the culpability for it to the actual Wigan fans.

The trick, my lad, would be to check through past posts, both on here and on Twitter (and not just today!), to see just how many Wigan fans have been viciously angry with Shaun Edwards and totally blame him for this whole sorry affair. But no, that means you wouldn't be able to post blatant untruths like 'most still think the sun shines from his rear'.
