| The tide ahd already turned before that incident with the kick.
you could already sence that the only side likely to be scoring were Cas.
We played the last twenty or so trying to cling on in a game that should have been well put to bed.
How people then pick out odd calls as being the difference is beyond me.
If people are honest we were very lucky to leave with a point.
Yes we were winning by 18 points but we were never really playing all that well.
Castleford kept going and we didnt simple as that.

| Agreed.
We threw a point away due to a poor attitude. The refs decisions and players tiring after Friday were all a sideshow to the main problem and it's been a problem all season. We're trying to get through games by doing 'just enough' rather then trying to run the cleaners through teams.

Wigan had eight in a row

| Another strange decision was not to "take the two" from the penalty just to the side of the posts early in the second half. That would have put us 24 - 4 up.

| One of the worst decisions iv ever witnessed at an RL game, I was right near it and it was 2 yards out, how can the touch judge "imagine" a ball bouncing. Nice to see MR Bentham before the game clearly swearing at Wigan fans that were giving him stick when he was warming up, very professional.

| I'm still not getting this whole thread.
Am i right in thinking Cas got the put in? If so it wouldn't have mattered if the ball bounced or not we'd have got the scrum feed with the only decision that possibly could be wrong being where the scrum took place.
The linesman made the call that a Wigan man had played at the ball and touched it with his hand therefore meaning Cas got the ball at the scrum.
The ball bouncing in play or out on the full seems irrelevant.
I wasn't concentrating at the time to be fair though so maybe i'm totally wrong.

It was from a 20m restart. If it bounces its Cas ball. If it doesnt its ours on the 20.
Shocking call (as was the grounding) but not the reason we drew.
Also, if we got all the 50/50 calls then we must have been massively undisciplined as we lost the penalty count.

Thats explains that then!
I was talking to my mate at the side of me at the time and next minute I just heard people going mentle and all the players running over to the touch judge.
I thought it was just in general play.

| As mentione by xieron earlier in the thread, Did he also tap it before kicking it (We think he did)? If he did it wouldn't have mattered if it did bounce or not as it was "In Play" and not a restart.
You are supposed to kick the ball without tapping it.

Would quite like to get the DVD of that game though, one of the most eventful I've been to in years. Especially for Dixon's "worm burner" conversion attempt - worse than Connolly at Central Park!'"
Not as funny as the ball steal on Pat Richards by the invisible man!!!

I thought they were about to tap it before Chase chipped in and kicked.

My feeling at the time was that another player had tapped it, then passed it back to Chase for the kick. However it may just have looked like he tapped it, without any contact. You know, like Leon Pryce "didn't" tap it 3 times in succession at Knowsley Shed last year, before Amos got binned for tackling the player on the goal line "before" he tapped it?

| There were plenty Wigan fans there certainly, a decent number of us behind the sticks and i'd say about a third of the covered stand to our left was Wiganers.
