Sat through the whole 80 mins - I was nine at the time. However I felt more gutted around the 55 minute mark in 1996 and at Wembley in 1987 than I ever did in 1989.

Wigan actually went full-time professional in 1994 (and they weren't the only ones).

So, if it actually was unfair - which is a matter of debate, given that they did nothing everybody else couldn't have done - it was only unfair for about a year and a half.

They won the CC six times in a row, the Championship, Lancs Cup, JPT, Premiership, etc etc when they were part-time.

But then real facts won't dissuade obsessed and soppy little trolls like Bruce Borsyth. Almost every post he's made has been on the Wigan forum, and he's been owned on each occasion (not a new experience for him, I suspect).

I mean come on, trying to find victory in the fact that a rival club has a fallow decade - during which time they still appeared in numerous finals and semi-finals. I bet he wishes his team had a fallow decade of that sort.

He can only dream of following a club like Wigan. That's why he defines himself by how much he hates us.

The crowd was embarrasing, iv read drivel on the Saints board leading up to this that it had "sold out 3 weeks ago" what a joke.

Did anyone hear Eddie's petulant outburst about the crowd being in the wrong place for the Sky cameras.

It was almost like: "Honest folks, there really is a crowd here. Honest. See, look behind the camera, that's where they all are."
