| Quote wireontour="wireontour"He isn't the first to be caught either. Ryan Hudson got a 2 year ban for failing a drug test. IMO they should be banned from competing in professional sport. This doesnt set a good example to children.

Difference is, Hudson took an over the counter tablet from Australia, not an illegal grade A substance

| Even the "best" player in the world at the time Andrew Johns later admitted to using drugs. Went down in my estimations after that.

| Quote EVERTON WARRIOR="EVERTON WARRIOR"Maybe a points deduction system against teams should be introduced in addition to individual player bans/punishment?
Im not saying it would solve the problem but maybe it would make players think twice about their actions knowing that they would be letting down their fellow team mates who do abide by the rules?
I dont know if its a viable option but maybe its possible.
Thoughts?
FWIW i dont think i have ever felt so down about Wigan RL as i do today.
the club seems to have lost its soul for me.'"
It would certainly make clubs more likely to weed out and line up any drug takers within its ranks and fire them off. I think Wigan should take a hard line over this matter and test our players off our own backs. Drugs in pro sports is a big no no.

| Quote cmscwarn="cmscwarn"No offence here but.....
I dont know what you do but i bets its a lot easier to find a replacement for your role in your company than it is to find a replacement for hock.
Of course if it was feilden then i wouldnt be as bothered about him being released because:
a) hes on a huge salary and we can get better cheaper
b) he has underperformed for 2 years
c) isnt a local player
d) when his ban is finished he would be 32-33ish'"
None taken mate.
Hock is replaceable - he's a good player but there is always someone better or will be better in 2years time ie. Mossop/Farrell.
Hock had his chance he half took it, then he thought he was King Ding and blew it all away. IMHO he should be sacked.

| It's interesting how people's reactions throughout RL differ from thier reactions to the St Helens academy player who failed a drugs test for cocaine.
As I said at the time, would the same treatment which he got be given to a top player, and everyones reactions be the same. I've got my answer I think..

| I believe that if everyone was tested this weekend for example there would be a lot of players panicking.
We all know the rumours about other players at different clubs as well as just wigan (and I know that is all they are),but why dont the authorities knock it on the head now and set the right example.

I know. I don't see why players do it. I just can't see the logic with such short careers and usually they don't get a life changing amount after it.
