| was impressed with every single one of them but ones that stood out were mellor, charnley, holland, number 12(?) and mossop. Pryce was the worst IMO, did about 2 good runs through the game, and the rest he either did nothing or was just basically rubbish. But other than that a great performance totally dominated saints, it felt like i was watching a super league team v championship team at times the difference in class was miles. Well done Wigan

And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Mellor himself scored an absolutely fantastic try in which is weaved, stepped dummied and outpaced what looked like half the Saints side, before going under the sticks.'"
That was an absolute class try. I think if he makes the step up to the first team in the next couple of years we've a lot to look forward to.
Good to see a couple of first teamers there supporting the young lads too. I saw Sam T. Lockers and Phelps. Did anyone see any others there? Wondered if Noble made it down after the Club Call in Leeds too.
On a lesser note, also saw Kyle Eastmond sneaking out 10 minutes before the end.

Others that were there were Micky Mc, Feka, Richards, Carmont, Prescott, I did notice Phelps was limping hope he is OK for Saturday.
On the Noble one the Club call did not finish until 2.30 i was told with all the media interviews so if he did make it it would only have been for the last part of the second half.

I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew

I noticed Phelps limping too, took him ages to get up the steps.
My lads mithered Sam all afternoon lol.
Thought it was great when Feka, Lulu et all walked into the stand and the majority of the Wigan fans there stood and clapped them.

| great game to watch over all. a few of us were watching karl price closely.
this guy is poor to say the least. every time he did a little he was wondering round with his hands on his hips sucking in the oxygen. he was bloody hopeless most of the match. he will never make the fist team. completely looks uninterested. I would get shut at earlies possible oportunity. other than that everyone else a great big well done .

if that happens I personally think it would be wrong. I watched the 18's but in a very good performance against Bradford and to drop players to accomodate mellor and thornley would be wrong. Sam Powell had a good game as did the stand off. I feel those lads along with the rest of the team that showed up Saturday deserve to be in the 18's Grand Final next week....

| Great result and much-deserved win for the reserves. We dominated in every area.
However, if that St Helens team is the cream of the opposition in the reserve competition then it shows how seriously we need to be thinking about loan options for some of our big prospects. There were quite a few players in that team yesterday who are surely on the fringes of the first-team but the step up to Super League is huge. Regular action for an NL1 side is almost essential to get them up a gear IMO. Not taking anything away from the team though, they were excellent - a well-drilled, confident performance.

Think they are too similar. Thought Howarth made a big difference when he came on putting Mellor and then Mossop through to offload for Mellor again.

I was really impressed with Howarth when he came on also. Our kicking game in the first half was appaling with our main tactic being to pass it to Pryce and let him hoof it as far as possible(normally down the fullbacks throat). When we brought Howarth on the kicking went through him and he pinned Saints back with some excellent stuff.
Mellor looks an exciting talent. He plays abit like Sam with the step and the pace and also obviously has that eye for the tryline. Is it possible for it to be a bad thing that he's similar to Sam? surely not! especially if Sam's alround game keeps progressing as it is(especially his kicking game thats coming on week by week).
Outside of those 2 the pack as a whole was outstanding and Saints just couldn't live with them. I thought Mossop looked the stand out which isn't a suprise and you felt almost sorry for the Saints lads at times that this 6ft 4 forward with superleague experience was running like a man possesed at them until you realise they had plenty of first team experience in their side. I was also hugely impresses with Walker(with the scrum cap) who might not be the biggest second row ever but my god can he hit hard int he tackle and as for being commited runnign the ball in
The future looks very bright.

| Been the best side in the league all year so it is a good reward for them to complete the season with the GF win. Be interesting to see what happens to players who are on the fringe of the first team now, surely Wigan will keep hold of this crop and not let them go to other clubs!
