And you are right, the context didnt change, hence the reason it was so offensive for YOU to try and defend Clarkes statement. It was clearly offensive.
And im not trying to score points, i am trying to explain why it is offensive for you to have defended and continue to defend Clarkes statement.
it was chance, and he didnt increase the chance of screwing up his knee to 100% that is clearly nonsense or everybody who grabbed a shirt is would suffer the same injury, this is clearly untrue.'"
...yet more verbal diarrhoea. You just don't know when to stop.

It's pretty obvious to anyone that you need to read the whole thing to appreciate the context and meaning. Something you seem incapable of, to the extent you need to drop what happened to a completely unrelated person into the McGuire context. Mental.'"
its the same principle applied to a different person, it would be the definition of hypocrisy to say that your principle only applied to Mcguire.
And which part of what Clarke put changed the context? the part where he talks about how it wasnt a penalty try or the part where he talks about how Leeds will miss him? the entire quote in full
The hottest topic was the foul by Danny McGuire on George Carmont in the last minute. Some people felt that the referee should've given a penalty try to Wigan, but I don't think that was a possibility when Richards still needed to pass the ball accurately to Carmont, who would have then needed to catch the ball and beat any defender in a 50 metre race to the try line, with the handicap of having to carry a ball as well. I can't understand why McGuire did it? He would have been fast enough to catch Carmont from behind.
McGuire's injury could well act as a lesson to any other player watching that it doesn't pay to cheat. Perhaps the rugby Gods have punished him for his unsportsmanlike play. Either way, he'll be a massive loss for Leeds and I can't see them winning the Grand Final without him. In my opinion, he's been brilliant for them this season.

you could just say you were wrong to defend Clarke's statement and anyone saying or inferring Mcguire deserved his injury was wrong and classless aswell.

Holy crap mate, you really need to take a good long hard look at yourself and what you've posted page after page, ESPECIALLY if you're going to talk about misrepresentation and cite McClennan's statements as fine but Clarke's as not.
I really would do one from this thread, if this was Southstander and the situation reversed between Wigan and Leeds, you've have been perma banned from it by now - and you still think our mods are harsh?
I've liked most of your posts in the past on lots of topic, but you're fighting totally the wrong battle here.
JP said something really stupid (an employee of Leeds Rhinos), you can't defend it by relating what PC (a renta gob on sky) did.
Seriously just bow out now, because this thread is going one of two ways: Even uglier, with people getting banned, or locked.
I voted for locked.

Nope.
I'm not really offended by any of it. I think it's all a bit daft tbh. All a bit OTT
But I am finding it even dafter the amount of energy you have used on the subject. And the way you are twisting and turning to rationalise the obvious inconsistencies in your argument.

You could just say were wrong to use Mike Gregory's illness as a debating weapon?? I won't expect it, you're clearly not man enough.
Did you read the last line of my earlier post? "The plain, simple, obvious truth is no, he didn't deserve it, but he caused it." I'm never going to agree with you it was chance, but then I have a brain. I've never once said he deserved it. Very few have. But you just carry on with the verbal diarrhoea and emptying your box of kleenex.
And then go away back to your own board where they'll appreciate your low tactics.
I agree with SEB, lock this now.

What happened to McGuire only happened to McGuire - you bizarrely tried to put what happened to Mike Greg into the McGuire context. How that's going to prove your point only you know.
And to be honest I don't what you're going on about Clarke changing the context? I've never said that.
I suggest a good night's sleep.

Seriously just bow out now, because this thread is going one of two waysI did try as clearly as possible to explain the reasons why i used that parrallel. I have quite clearly said the rhetorical statement i used was an idiotic and offensive position statement, in fact it was only used as an example of an idiotic and offensive statement. If anyone is truly offended by it then i apologise if i didnt make that clear enough or they thought i was in any way mocking or denegrating what happened, that was the exact opposite of my intention

Mike Gregory was a dearly loved man not only in this town, but in Rugby League in general by friends and foes alike, who tragically lost his life.
I'll accept your apology, and believe you that it wasn't intended.
I suspect if you'd said the same words in a pub in Wigan, you wouldn't be able to apologise.
This thread BADLY needs a lock.

| Quote: Wigan/Leeds Andy "What happened to McGuire only happened to McGuire '" he isnt the first player tobe injured, he isnt the first player to break the rules. What has happened to Mcguire has most likely happened to every player, they have at times broke the rules and at times been injured.

'" Your principle should be applicable to any and all persons. Not only Mcguire
Quote: Wigan/Leeds Andy "And to be honest I don't what you're going on about Clarke changing the context? I've never said that.'" no you didnt say anything about Clarke changing the context. What you did say was the context was changed in Clarkes full quote compared to quote specifically about Mcguire. I am asking you what in the rest of the quote changed the context that was apparent in the smaller quote taken in isolation?
