Quote: godlikestatus ""Wigan RL being THE dominant force in British RL, memories that I grew up with and consider a birthright. " You deluded single minded clown, you want crackin round the chops with a 6lb salmon and puttin to bed
I think you mean you "need", implying that in your opinion, you think that such a fate is appropriate for me.

You "want" implies that I would quite like the above actions to occur.

Let me elucidate.

You NEED to go back to school and learn to perfect the grammar that you seek to use in a derogatory fashion.

Now run along and leave this thread to the adults.

Quote: godlikestatus "It means the sales of scotch eggs and pasties will rise with you dribbling idiots parading yer 'MECCA' bingo tops all over town, discouraging visitors to the glorious centre

Have serious word with your self . there will be thousands of Wigan fans all over town in various Cherry and white jerseys and no doubt they will be enjoying them selves and there may be a few pastry products consumed , but i doubt very much it will discourage visitors to the centre .
what does discourage people to places is narrow minded opinionasted bigotted knobs shouting there mouths off !!

I've been to three finals, the 2002 cup final and two grand finals that we lost. I was quite young yet winning still felt great and losing hurt. But the last 8 years have been difficult as a Wigan fan. We've seen so many nearly and maybe moments. Seasons where a win against Saints or a playoff game at Bradford was the pinnacle of the year. Now we've finally got the chance to go that step further. I've never seen my team be champions, I didn't go to the matches the last time we won the league. I've had years of hearing how good Wigan used to be, of great players from the past, of fantastic games that sealed titles. Finally I may be able to be part of that, watch MY team be crowned the greatest in the country. Wigan are once again a major force in Super League, something i've dreamt of since I started watching. We can now go that step further and be THE BEST! Can you tell i'm excited? Picture the celebrations at Wire when Roberts flew down the pitch, at Saints when Feka crashed over and Leeds when Goulding scooped up the ball. Now multiply that by 1000 and imagine Old Trafford errupting at the final whistle in a sea of Cherry and White.

I'm sh****ng myself! icon_lol.gif

It means a lot to me , but what it means to my 13yr old son is beyond words, he's of the generation who haven't seen us win anything yet, so it will be fantastic if we can become SL champions...i'm excited for him

Feel just like I did before Wembley 85, which banished the demons of the previous years of famine. (Know we won the John Player trophy in 83, but that didn't realy count)

First Wembley triumph since 65 - one I'd been too young to go to ( My Dad took my elder brother!). Did go in 66 as a 7 year old , then again in 70 - both heartbreaking losses to Saints and Castleford, then again in 84 - another loss in Joe Lydon's Widnes final.

85 was the turning point and paved the way for further triumphs, the dominance really started in 86-87 when we should have won the Grand Slam ( but for Paddy Kirwan's last minute try for Oldham we would have done, I'm sure), but we won every other trophy.

88 -95 we were unbeatable in the CC and won the league most years too. A fantastic time to be a Wigan supporter. Must be hard for youngsters to appreciate how great it was to be a Wigan supporter during that period when we have been so starved of success in the past 8 years.

So tomorrow could be the start of a similar period of success - probably imposible to emulate that period, but let's wait and see. I really hope so for all you loyal and fantastic younger supporters. You deserve it!

Aww bless.

I love it when an internet warrior, unable to counter a line of argument, attempts to use a patronisation as legitimate means of retort.

I re-iterate, go back to school "cock".

Quote: XBrettKennyX "First and foremost it would mean that my team has won the GF, ultimately that's what it is all about for me.

Secondly I don't mind admitting that it would give me a sense of satisfaction that Wigan RLFC have bounced back despite the RFL's determination to keep them out of the honours (and there IS such a determination).

Thirdly it would rekindle memories of Wigan RL being THE dominant force in British RL, memories that I grew up with and consider a birthright. We ARE the most famous team in British RL, we ARE the most successful in it's history- let's carry on where we left off....'"

Just one Main Question with regards to your post. If you are the Most Famous team in British RL, the most recognisable. Then WHY on earth would the RFL wish to keep you away from public attention by stopping you winning honours? I think you have been on the Conspiracy flakes for breakfast again.

Mean s the world to me im from haydock and now live round corner fron knowsley rd ,I work at pilks so you could imagine im out numberd 100 to about 5 ,I drink in what was Eddie cunninghams pub he s not long give it up ,I ve been very quiet on predicting the result because Saints has already won it icon_wink.gif So i keep getting told of many of them nearly every 1 of my mates support saints. So a Wigan win would really really help me in making hundreds of saints fans lifes a misery for a long time especialy on my facebook, work ,freinds

I agree it's illogical. Then again this IS the RFL we are talking about.

Flat caps and whippets 'n all.......
