I don't know how anyone can mistake a good humoured chant of "I'd rather be a pastie than a pie" for something racist! The yorkshire lads in front of me thought it was amusing as did my Wiganer mother.

As for what goes on at under 7 matches the whole of RL has a problem with abusive parents - at one Orrell St James vs Ince St Williams match some years ago one parent ripped off his shirt and stormed across the pitch to confront the opposing coach only to turn around halfway across when everyone laughed at his fat belly!!!!

Well i was at the game and it sounded like pastie to me also watched it on TV when i got back and it still sounded like pastie. I dont know where people have got the other from but i believe Specsavers do hearing aids as well now maybe one or to should invest in one.

As a leyther myself, I too am a little annoyed at the chants heard at the game on Saturday..For far too long now we have continued to keep alive the Wigan hatred of years gone by and its a little boring now. However I do appreciate that they were meant to be light hearted chants so I aint gonna drag people over hot coals for it.
What is also annoying is that elements of this Wigan board find it totally acceptable to start with the ignorant, abusive and foulmouthed inults such as inbreds and the like.

A simple quote of "idiots" would suffice.

Well there you go just explained it yourself selective hearing. I to have seen idiotic behavior at Hilton Park and not just from Leigh Fans and as they say it takes 2 to tango. I have also seen Idiotic behavior in recent times at a few different grounds by so called supporters most clubs have a few Idiots and have always have had just dont tar everyone with the same brush.

Despite some of the thoroughly offensive and over vivid imaginations of some of the posters on this thread I intend to still come to your next home game with 2 other Leythers. We shall now support Saints but to remain unbiased we will sit behind the posts in the Wigan end of course.

We all have four fingers and one thumb on each hand and regularly watch other teams play the game we all support (including you lot of course) when Leigh are not playing.

So as not to upset anyone though we will eat our pasties out of napkins taking small bites and will not purchase any pies.

One further comment every Leyther I know thinks Sam Tomkins was outstanding for England on Saturday.

Well although the chants were all meant in good humoured banter it seems that its a large proportion of your fans that seem to want to make this MUCH MUCH more than it actually was..
