| We are really poor. This team is producing the lowest standard of rugby by a Wigan team since the mid 80s.
Saints aren't the team they were (SL has gone backwards in the last 2-3 years or so IMO) but are still a decent outfit (can't criticise them given our woeful state) and will be very confident indeed.
I can't see anything other than yet another thrashing being handed out to us.
I am sick and tired of this. I will be interested to see if after what I expect to be a 30+ point defeat IL and BN take some responsibility or whether they attempt the usual lame excuses and predictions that later in the season/2011/etc will see a revival.
Having said all that I will turn up on Thursday hoping and praying for a win on the basis that derby matches throw up some surprises, there's always hope... we've probably got no better than a 100-1 shot, but then so did the winning horse in the National...

| I think we will turn up and put on a good performance Thursday. With a vociferous crowd and a decent side out (hopefully including Gleeson), I have no doubt we can give them a game.
They have had a massive game at the weekend and will have a few bumps/bruises to contend with and I think our lads will come of age and kickstart a season that's badly in need of it.
22-18 to Wigan.

| Point is, alot of the time we and Noble IL aren't being honest at our CURRENT team,
Richards- A FB cos our first choice FB turned out to be terrible (Mathers)
Roberts-Average at best by SL standards, sooner have Dave Halley
Bailey-Playin in the centres cos no one else can do a job there. Phelps and Goulding haven't cut it. Picked as the best of a bad bunch.
Carmont-Good
Ainscough-Good, still a little wet, mainly in defense
Tomkins-Good, still young though, lots of promise
Tommy-Better at 9
Fielden-Does nothing in a game in attack, average in defense
Riddell-No better if not worse than Higham
Coley-NL1 standard prop
Hock-Good, needs to watch his offloads at times.
Tomkins-Is much better loose. but good
Lockers-Needs to be in the SR.
---------------
Feka-Good
Hansen-Can tackle, nothing else.
McClorum-Decent at best, wouldn't look out of place at Widnes
Prescott-Good.

| Roberts to prove why we signed him and score a hat trick going the length of the field for one leaving gardner standing.
Riddell to play Jack Black off the pitch scoring two.
Lockers to become the ultimate capt shouting down Fielden till he regains his 'crazy eyes' once again becoming the ultimate prop destroying Graham.
Hock to get every offload right, Coley to play like a young Wiki.
Gleeson to score.
Tomkins to hit a late drop goal.
27-0 to Wigan. Nuff Said

| Wigan to lift the intensity to another level - Saints can't manage this given the high intensity battle against Leeds and subsequently their energy levels are not as high.
The loss of Jason Cayless means Wigan can match them in the forwards.
Wigan are lifted by the signing of Martin Gleeson who gives them more options out wide and Thomas Leuluai and Sam Tomkins can really show what they can do. O'loughlin is moved to second row to offer a balance of creativity across the side with Carmont and Hock , O'loughlin and Gleeson with two clinical finishers in Ainscough and Roberts.
Wigan to target Paul Wellens and Francis Meli with towering kicks. We look to dominate the ruck all match and not allow Cunningham or Roby the chance to boss the game. We realise that Pryce prefers to take on the defence whereas Sean Long opts to move the ball out wide to Gidley to create space for himself or Gardner.
Wigan score first and the crowd lifts and they put in a huge effort to beat Saints.
Wigan 25 - 18 Saints.
Attendance - 24000
