Well that looks like thats the end of that pipedream.

The most bafflinf part of that article on sporting life about Mason is the part saying he's going to play centre for Toulon! If thats the case literally anybody could get a gig playing Union somewhere.

Hull KR must be relieved, best thing that could happen to them is to get Dobson back and Mason out imo

For sure.

Mason has looked un-interested to me and with the money the guy must be on it seems a blessing in disguise for HKR. They could use his money very wisely if the right players become available.

I think that's more of an indication of how barmy Saint-Andre is compared to the standard of RU centres.

Mason is not good enough to play at the level needed in Union, may do it for a few weeks as he has done for the last 4/5 years in League. He can't compare to SBW who now looks a super Union player and probably will start in the World Cup with the ALL Blacks and you don't do that if you can't play.

However for Hull KR they in my view were crazy to go for him, the sooner they get rid the better. Doesn't this make Sky look silly if the rumors are correct, comments such as "the biggest signing for Super League a true superstar" etc., do they really watch what is going on and more importantly understand this in the world of Rugby League. They have been so head in the sand with the English (sorry European) game that that have totally ignored developments elsewhere. As a result of "the we are world class" etc. descriptions that we have been given for so many years and maybe just recently tempered down a bit situation we are now miles behind what is going on in Australia and going backwards.

This is very sad and if we further just look at what a brand new Australian coach achieved with Wigan in 1 season surely we should take a long hard look at our game and not keep pretending how good it is. We were a better spectacle and much closer to being able to compete 15 years ago and certainly at that time Union could not compare. Unfortunately we have gone backwards and they have moved on and Super League is not very super and our crowds now don't even compare to Union where 15 years ago the opposite applied.

if true Mason will go a storm in union at inside centre. Good option for him easy money will have to do half the work and will be twice as effective.

He will be used as a battering ram in exactly the same way he is in League, playing on his size power and offload.

I agree with you. Unfortunately we are in a minority; most people in RL won't face reality.

The fitness level in RL is far higher than in RU. They won't use him in the forwards no doubt, they consider the role of the forward in RU to be far superior and take years of learning to develop an understanding of the roles.

Can see him being more effective as an outside centre, like Matt Banahan.

lacks the pace, outside centres need to be rapid in union.
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg
