| Attended a funeral of a school friend who was killed in Afghanistan this week, and to be stood amongst those hero's, a word too often banded about but very appropriate in the armed forces case, made me feel ashamed of myself and my day job.
Its great that these brave men and women are being so immaculately recognised by the civilians they are fighting to protect, and as ever non better at honouring the boys than a fantastic rugby league crowd.

| I think the sentiment has been made. Personally I would double the wages of every single member of the armed forces (and pay for it by halving the benefits of the scrounging filth in our country).
If most of us have a bad day at work it means we go home stressed. If these guys have the same they don't go home.
A very very sobering thought.
I cannot express on here the admiration I have for our armed forces, nor the gratitude that I have for the job that they do.

absolutely spot on, instead of this government taxing the workers they should remove it from the scroungers weekly pay out and donate it to our brave men and women of the armed forces. maybe then a government would get some respect!!! i work as a civil servant and have found myself in some very sticky situations with unsavioury charactors but i feel humbled by the work our forces do. get rid of the jeremy kyle society and get the lazy baztards working for this country instead of putting it on its

| Soldiers are only on around £16,000 a year, thats nothing compared to what they put at risk. Ideally benefits should be stopped after 6 months and soldiers should be given danger money and a massive payout if they get hurt or killed.

| was a very moving tribute last night. I think leeds need to be comended for doing this. Would think it would be good for our game if we made a weekend where bucket collectors at all grounds are colecting for hereos and all the games a precedded by what happened at Leeds last night. Perhaps the St Georges weekend games. Would give the game massive publicity.
