| It doesnt say that are set for superleague at all, they just dont have to satisfy the criteria for putting in a bid of getting to a grand final, and as they dont compete in the northern rail cup they are missing out on an opportunity to do this. I dont see whats wrong with them putting in a bid, however they should only be allowed in if they do have the best bid. Although i doubt they would. I hope Widnes get back in Superleague

| A second Super League team in France will do RL in the country a lot of good. They need that sort of "local" derby and rivalry to push them on for all kinds of reasons.

Most importantly it will bring more French players into the league and hopefully improve the French national team in the long term.

| Salford offer nothing whatsoever.
Looks like Toulouse will get a licence and hopefully Widnes too. If another team had to go down to the Championship I'd make it Harlequins.

| Oh great another boring match at home with no away support. Quins, Catalan, Crusaders, Huddersfield, and maybe now Toulouse its killing the excitement of games.
Give me Widnes, Leigh, Barrow, Halifax any day of the week!

How many did Hull KR bring this year? Salford don't exactly pack the North stand, do they?

| I think it's important that Toulouse do become a member of SuperLeague, but what I don't agree with is the constant rule changing. It makes the sport look unprofessional and week.

Hull KR brought over 900, and Salford brought over 1000 for the cup game last year. TBH i just picked the clubs who have the North stand closed when they come to town. I dont really have a problem with catalan they have obviously been a success but in order to try and expand the game the RFL are killing rugby league heartland clubs, Quins and Crusaders being the worst cases - the only thing they have over clubs like widnes and halifax is location and Crusaders dont really have that anymore!

Now now! We are all Treizistes together in this world! I support the French struggle to keep the game going every bit as much as I want to see the game flourish in Cumbria. It shouldn't be a them & us scenario.

Speaking of away support the Crusaders have sold more tickets than ever for an away game. They have sold 250 tickets already for the Warrington game. I know it's still a low number but it shows that the location in Wrexham may have a positive effect on gates.

| Crusaders have a lot of away games early season but their next two home games are aginst Catalans and Quins.
Crusaders could win them both!
I was impressed with their first two home game's crowds and although 250 ain't that high at least it's a start.
Should they win those next two home games then the fixtures v Saints Warrington and us will have near enough a full house.
The move to Wrexham might not be the disaster we all feared.

Maybe a tad rash on my part. But it just annoys me that heartland teams are overlooked for these expansion teams. It is good for the game, don't get me wrong. But these expansion clubs need teams to play at the end of the day, and if they keep going under they won't have anyone to play!

| Quote: Deano G "Why is it a joke?
The issue with Crusaders is surely their financial stability (or lack of it) and the fact they have moved from South to North Wales, not that they didn't spend enough time in the Championship.
Catalans went into SL and have been a great success. Provided that Toulouse have a sound bid then the RFL should do everything it can to get them into SL. A second French side, especially one in a city the size of Toulouse in an area that has a RL tradition, would be fantastic for the game. It certainly wouldn't harm the chances of us getting a decent deal from Sky at the next renewal to have two French sides in there. French RL was in a desperate state before the Catalans joined SL, now it has hope for the future and French RL players have something to aspire to. A second side in France would help massively. Over time we should see a more competitive French national side. How great would that be?'"
With enough time in the Championship they could have built a good fan base, bringing more people through the gate and doing the game in wales a lot more good than it actually ended up doing after being fast tracked. Surely the financial stability would have been miles better had they built up a fan base, and been given time to actually build as a club.

| i would like to see widnes and a cumbrian club in SL , never mind another french club. I would not like to lose any of the curent teams that are in SL right now , even though it is inevitable. Could we not merge the hull clubs ( joke )

250 isn't bad. Some established "heartland" clubs would struggle to match that. Its not far from Hudds to Wigan for example, but I doubt they would bring much more than 250 to the DW on a Friday night.
