Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| Best team certainly did win, well done to Widnes.
But come September, it'll be Wigan, Leeds, Wire and Saints scrapping for OT again and everyone knows it.

Who knows? What with Leicester in the premier league.

Wire will absolutely walk it this season if they can keep injuries down.
Personally I would love it if Widnes or Salford could break into the top 4 and/or make a CC final.

It's still shoite.
I couldn't give a tuppeny shoite what Aussies do or don't do.
We follow the Aussies irrespective if changes are bad good or indifferent.
I don't think Manfredi has had a pass yet from Gelling this season. Most people rate Manfredi yet think it's ok when he never gets a pass. I find pretty incredulous.
Why don't we just play with 13 middles and have a 4 more on the bench and be done with it and stop this pretence that we try to play rugby?

| Maybe this is what happens when a guy who was a slow, plodding prop forward ( admittedly hard and very solid in defence) becomes a head coach.....

| Well done Widnes, the better side won. We are worse thsn average at 7 and 9. I'd say Smith had a shocker but it's more of a shock to me that he has had a few decent games recently, way out if his depth. I'm not too annoyed about the missed conversions because you can't expect him to nail all three, but his play kicking was terrible all night, he does bugger all ball in hand, and he topped it off with a knock on at the end when we could have nabbed a draw.

Winning isnt everything but having the will to win is: |
|
| As a widnes fan I still can't believe we won it,I knew we would give you lot a good game but I thought you would win in the end
Your defence is awesome at times and ultimately it will get you to the GF but you will do it alot easier without smith, hes absolutely shocking for a no7,he offers nothing in attack apart from passing to o'loughlin(who was immense)he couldn't beat an egg and oppos defence know they can marshall him quite easily
I'm very happy with alot of your posters in stating that we deserved to win as we definitely did
How go would it be if the GF was widnes v wigan
Good luck for the rest of the season

You were never in danger of losing once you went in front. Our attack is averaging 19 points a match and that includes the Leeds game upping the average which is been the only comfortable win this season. We had the ball back from the kick off and you made a mess of another giving us field position but it's the same old story in the 10 to 20m zone for us. No guile and no clue. Unless we get a quick PTB with the defence not set we do not score more often than not.
You can't expect to win games by scoring around three tries a match. It leaves no room for errors and means you simply can't afford to make any errors and let the other side in.

Good to see you joined this forum to post that rubbish.
Apart from the odd one, most Wigan fans have praised Widnes last night and their fantastic start to the season.
I for one hope you keep it up.

Good on you Grimmy, must make it a little harder when the better of the 2 scrum halfs came from your academy. Joe Mellor has been outstanding this season. Teams still think everything we do is through Brown so he has the freedom Kev doesn't.

| Widnes were good for the win and that's that. Wigan's 5 from 5 was papering over the cracks a bit for me. We could easily have lost against Huddersfield, Salford and Hull and the opening game of the season in the mud against Catalan could have gone either way. We won those games and the lads deserve credit for playing the full 80 minutes.
We are very limited in attack and Smith offers nothing. One good game a season is not acceptable and I can't believe we can't attract a better scrum half to the club. Powell has been thrust in full time because of MM's injury but again, just isn't up to the task. Logan was a better option at 9 although he has his faults.
We have a lot of quality on the sidelines in ST, JT, MM and Williams but we desperately need to get better in possession.

| From an outsiders point of view last year when you were in dire need of a centre I think Wigan missed a big trick not going for Runciman, very astute signing for me

| I quite fancied us, Widnes, to turn you over last night as I have been disappointed with your attacking play, when you get within 30m of the line from what I have seen so far, and last night followed suit.
You scored two tries from our mistakes, which were well taken tries, but other than that for all the pressure and possession you had you just weren't clinical enough again.
You definitely aren't the same side without Williams and I think Joel Tomkins is your biggest threat when the ball goes wide.
We're living the dream at the moment so will cherish a long awaited victory like last nights, but can still see it being yourselves and Wire in the Final.
Good luck for the rest of the season, apart from the return fixture obviously.
