There was good evidence that a section of the Ultras were intending to bring spray paint to put the S2 logo around the ground. Not sure where that came from but thats why the searches were done. A number of cans were found but the fans were allowed in. Nothing heavy handed about that. Throwing any object towards the pitch is against ground regs and he was ejected. Nothing heavy handed there either. They hoped ejecting the first to do it would deter the rest. That seemed to fail!

the amount of stewards and police stood infront of the wigan end was provocative! its treating the fans like criminals before they have done anything and usually cause more trouble than it prevents. you can quite cleary see that there is a difference between stewarding and going over the top. could saints fans not cause fights and arguements by the sounds of it there was alot of nobs (not real saints fans) but still trying to cause trouble. i haven't heard of any real complaints about the wigan fans?

you mean when some of them was having a joke on here when the wigan top being burried under the pitch came out. its very hard to spray paint in a stadium with out being caught or reported i am sure the wigan fans would have reported the people spray painting if they was.

Maybe if some fans weren't stupid enough to rlwear scarves over their facesrl, there might be a less heavy-handed approach.

Sorry but I know for a fact that there were 6 people who had paint cans taken from them. I'm Wigan through and through and wish it was rubbish.
There was also 3 saints fans arrested for going into the ground with somebody else's season ticket. They were adults with juvenile tickets. I wouldn't make anything up and post it on here. I was there as a Wigan fan and enjoyed the day more than I have in a long time but these things happened. Fact!!

They wernt "the brigantes", they were a group of lads that had red hair spray that had all sprayed there hair red. Take it you didn't see this group? There was about 20 of them
