| Ticket sales for the game have started off very well at Saints. The first allocation for the game was sold out by 11a.m. on Monday and another allocation had to be brought over from the DW. Granted the first application may have only been about 1000 or so but if sales continue as they are then we should bring quite a few. When all is said and done the game is Wigan V Saints.

| Looking at eticketing theres a hell of alot of ST holders not bought their seats before the deadline. There's around 9K been sold so far for the home stands. That includes any seats that were on general sale. Its hard to judge but I can't see another 10k tickets being sold before Sunday. Ill go for an attendance around 14-15k.

Quote Salty="Salty"In Australia it's 1 v 8, 2 v 7, etc. I don't know what happens in subsequent rounds but maybe this would be better. It does seem ridiculous that we all know that Wigan will play Saints twice.'"
The two highest ranked winners from week 1 advance to the semi finals. The two lowest ranked losers go out.
Example:
1 bt 8
2 bt 7
3 bt 6
4 bt 5
1 and 2 would advance to the semi finals, 7 and 8 would be out. 3 would then play 5 and 4 would play 6.
Interestingly, if you lose in rd1 although you may get a second bite of the cherry you lose any home advantages you may have earned whereas over here you just play at home the week after. Much better top 8 system than ours.

| Quote FearTheVee="FearTheVee"Yep, it's certainly a foregone conclusion you would hammer Catalans if you lose to Saints, given the beatings you dished out in the league fixtures.
Oh.'"
I didn't say we would hammer Catalans. I don't even think we will hammer Saints even though we have 3 wins and a draw against them this season. History doesn't count but if games go to form we will play Saints twice.

Yes if the RFL insist with a top 8 system then it should be the same format as the NRL. Fairer to the top teams and also means the same teams dont play each other twice. At times I think the RFL try to be too revolutionary for their own good and have tried to introduce this "club call" to generate a bit more interest, but considering its shoved to a 10 min slot during a weekday on SSN and people generally know who's going where beforehand anyway, I think we should scrap it and bring in the NRL system.

Even the system the Aussie Rules use is preferable to ours.

| Another reason for winning on Sunday, Latics are at home next week which means we'll be at Widnes again if we lose.

Looks like weve sold around 10k so far, I can imagine no more than another 2k being sold before Sunday. Stains will bring around 2.5k so Ill go for 14.5k - 15k.
Well done RFL for making the biggest derby in RL look fecking shiiiite

Think we need to look a little closer to home before we start blaming the RFL.

How is this the RFL's fault?
