| Quote Cruncher="Cruncher"This thread is fascinating.
Do commentators on Latics games really refer so regularly to the Warriors? Must drive the 'tics fans mad, if they do.
In all the TV coverage of the RL, whether on Sky or the BBC, I don't think I've ever heard a reference to Wigan Athletic once.'"
He actually called it a rugby league town at the end of the match, i bet that made a few of them mad. The media dont seem to like Latics that much, if were all honest its a sporting town.

That point is quite important.
A Latics supporting chum of mine always assures me that the constant references to the state of the DW pitch from the football media, though they are cast as anti-RL sentiment, are actually aimed at embarrassing Whelan and the football club. In other words: "Look at these bumpkins, who haven't even got their own stadium. Do they really deserve to be in the Premiership?"

Some of the things you read and hear, you really wonder whether they want Latics in the Premiership, the constant digs at them and references to bigger clubs in lower divisions. They obviously deserve to be where they are though. I mean if Liverpool lost at West Ham it would be seen as poor defeat but when they lost last night they said it was an embarrassment. Abit harsh imo. Good luck to em though despite what they think of the Warriors.
Hopefully the new pitch can give us a fast open game on friday.

One win in nearly two months and now all's well in't camp - well they're not slagging each other off anymore now! Other than the guy who took the Martinez Out banner!

| Good God!! The IQ on that board is even lower than the number of wins their team has!
I wonder if the intelligent Latics fans (who I can only presume don't go on that board) are embarrassed by:
Quote Bunch of fat egg chasing idiots. No wonder people like us men hate them. All the people who go watching them are big, fat and sweaty and to be fair, probably smell too. (exept the girls I saw with warriors tp on outside the DW for the Catalan game, they were nice, young and fit )
Also Wigan did get referred to on ESPN as a Rugby town, quite a few times.
P.s anybody else watched it again in delight?? '"

| Dont be fooled into thinking that those idiots are proper latics fans and those are the general views of all Latics fans. Vast majority of proper fans wouldnt even dream of going on there. Every Latics fan i know is embarrassed by that site and by some of their fans.

Some of the posts on that site are the funniest things I've read in a long time.
Quote MattyBYou cant really call any game of football boring when you watch a game were fat coke fuelled man runs into fat man, falls over, puts ball through his legs for another fat man to get, he runs 10 yards, falls over repeat ad nauseum'"
Quote MattyBBunch of fat egg chasing idiots. No wonder people like us men hate them. All the people who go watching them are big, fat and sweaty and to be fair, probably smell too. (exept the girls I saw with warriors tp on outside the DW for the Catalan game, they were nice, young and fit
)'"
Quote MattyBThey're a bitter bunch arent they.....still at least ESPN made them believe Wigan's a rugby town, hopefully some Latics fan put them right on that urban myth
'"
Quote MattyBJust watched the first half again and Joe Royle says "some people still regard Wigan as a rugby town", which is true, some people do, the majority don't.'"
Some of these are great post. I didn't think humor existed below 80 IQ.
