Phil Jones was a decent player and fully deserved selection ahead of Matty Johns.
I remember when Johns was out injured for Castleford away and Jones replaced him. Jones ended up scoring a hat trick and Man of the match before being dropped the week after by Endacott.
Luckily for Jones, he was offered a VERY good contract to play for Orrell RU. |

If you listen to people round here, that contract was anywhere between 80-120k a year! In the days when Orrell were paying crazy money for average players |
