Dear Wigan,

Please take note of this thread, the new shirt is almost universaly hated by the fans, and as a season of being champions we deserve something more....Wigan, more cherry and white, more traditional. This just can not be, this shirt is awe full...

It really pi55es me off that (and Im assuming here) somebody who isnt a shirt designer has knocked this up in a few moments and its absolutely stunning. Yet someone, or more than likely a team of somebodies, have been paid money and had months to come up with the awful shirt were now stuck with.

I know some people like the new shirt, and theyre entitled to, but surely someone must get a bo11ocking for the complete and utter lack research and understanding to come up with that effort. Someone posted earlier that all 16,000 wigan fans havent voiced their opinion so it may be a great seller but maths and statistics say that if only 5 people like it out of a 100 on here then only 800 are going to like it out the potential 16,000. Surely a failure by anyones standards let alone a club who have just been crowned champions and have one of the largest followings in the game.

Im just holding out for a decent away shirt because that seems to be all I buy these days.

Like i said keep things simple. In my opinion, Wigan should always ply their trade keeping within the boundries of what tradition and history the club holds across the Rugby world. One of Wigan's distinctions effectively as a brand, are Cherry & White Hoops, like the Saints & St George V, the red & green of South Sydney, the green and gold's of Australia etc etc the list goes on. In a sense clubs colours and in some aspects certain designs are like image rights, it's what sets each individual club apart.

A change of tradition is fine, but surely that is why clubs use Away Strips to incorporate different colour schemes/designs you usually would not associate with towards that club.

The way i see it, when Wigan take to the field against the Dragons in the World Club Championship with the whole world watching, it might say Wigan on the scoreboard, it might say Wigan on the TV, it might say Wigan in the matchday programme etc, but out on the field we won't look like Wigan.

But hey thats just my opinion, and the hierarchy within the club & even Kooga would probably disagree.

I bet the man that did that finished it about 3 minutes after getting off the phone, then sat down doing feck all for weeks.

would be really interested to know what the views of the new sponsors are,1st time sponsoring the new champions,a team back on the up,a world championship match televised on both sides of the world,money well spent you would think.o god no thats not a wigan kit, i thought wigan played in cherry and WHITE.have we sponsored the right team,even the teams own fans don't like this kit and now it's got our name plastered all over it.we're going to be remembered as the people who advertised on one of the worst shirts in wigans history.
