I disagree with KPP. He’s deserved the criticism that has come his way and tonight only highlights why. Where has that hunger and aggression been for the last two years? He was absolutely outstanding and long may it continue. I thought it was noticeable that Peet said his time off had got him excited about the game again. That seemed a back handed compliment, as though he was saying his motivation levels maybe haven’t been quite where they should be previously. What he has done tonight is get me excited that he can end his spell here on a real high and that would be pleasing. Nobody doubts his talent for me.

Agree.
If he plays like that for the rest of the season he leaves with good wishes.

I genuinely don’t think the positional changes have helped but you are right in saying he has deserved some criticism but unlike others you are able to give praise when it’s deserved.
I think he looked like a player who had been given a simple job to do tonight and I thought he executed that well.
Excited to see him develop here and in the NRL.

I hope he kills it over there. He’s clearly getting ready physically for it. He looked like he’d banged some muscle on during his spell on the sidelines. It’s all on attitude with him and when it’s like that tonight, he excites you and you see a glimpse of the player he should become. A trip to Wembley before he leaves would be nice to see. He can play a huge part in helping that come to fruition on tonight’s form.

| My only fly in the ointment is shoerrocks, grafter but no go forward at all i think when all the pack is fit, he definitely misses out on the 17

To be fair those 2 did strike fear into coaches when they got the ball, well mainly their own coach admittedly

| KPP has clearly put some serious weight on in the last few months and was hitting harder than I think he ever has last night. He’s probably more confident now to play in that style, now he’s conditioned to do it.

| KPP was everything Peet promised and more, I thought he was overhyping how much good the rest had done for KPP, he looked a lot bigger. He was very physical. It was funny watching the worst Wigan team in years with only two decent players out muscling the Wire pack.

I think there is value in having him as your last sub. He can cover O’Neill for 15-20 mins if needed, spell Smithies or one of the second rowers and cover injuries in the halves. I agree he shouldn’t be starting games though, not when we have everyone fit.

| Unfortunately I couldn’t get to the game last night but really pleased with the result.
How did Nsemba and Hill go?

| Quote: NickyKiss "He’s obviously not hugely quick Smithies but he’s playing great at the minute. He is really developing his link play in the middle and he’s added more punch to his running game. If he had an ex teammate banging his drum in the media, I reckon he’d be getting rave reviews across the board but not all players are as lucky.'"
Lots of passing last night as well linking with other forwards and our halves.

They were hardly on, might have got 10mins each in the second half, bench could be a bit of a concern next week, it's gutting having Havard missing

| Thought Smith was excellent last night he ran the show and his heads up play for Marshall's try was brilliant. KPP was different player - looked strong and effective - shame it has come late in his Wigan career as he could be a real handful playing like that. O'Neill was very good too. Possibly Wardle's best game for us
Field looked a bit sharper as well - perhaps he is now getting over the injury he had.
Second half we looked a lot more joined up - the attack looked a bit more slick - still work to do but improving.
