Would we say that 13 is our most iconic number? We've been blessed with many great players that you could make a case for any of 1, 6, 7 or 13.

Only recently when you consider it’s not been banded round to other players where as the others have but in the main I’d agree that you could make a case for all those to be iconic

It definitely is in my lifetime I would think, but seeing as the number 13 has been the club captain for the last 25 years (give or take the odd cameo) and has only actually been worn by 2 players, for most people aged 35 and under it more than likely will be.

Prior to that, it was worn by the likes of Clarke, Hanley and Bell who were all quality players and all captained the club at one time or another. In fact - who was the last player to wear number 13 that you would say was "crap"

That's a great question and I have no idea.

We've been extremely fortunate to say that for 30/40 years, we've had a world-class player in the 13 shirt.

I've been back through Bilko's site to 1990 and the worst 2 players would be Haughton and Andy Johnson in the pre SL days.

In their defence the list is those two along with Hanley, Goodway, Forshaw, Cassidy, Betts, Miles, Clarke, Farrell, McGinty, Panapa, Bell and a cameo by Jason Robinson.

Haughton was better than Forshaw for me
