The Communist Cap - dragging down success and aspiration to the levels of those who cba.: |
|
| Quote: jackdog "I don't want it to happen, but, sooner or later, it will.
One rugby.
Within 10 years, I'd guess.
I wouldn't mind betting there are people in both games making serious plans along those lines even now.'"
Lot's of formerly RU only schools are now using RL (well at least 6 tackles and PTB) in their training games.
However, I really cannot see RU making any "concessions" to absorb RL in the professional game. Why would they?
Unless corrective action is taken soon, and it may already be too late, the best RL can hope for is to become a feeder code for RU.
Given the level of talent, and the potential of the game, this will be an absolute tragedy.

Regardless of the question raised in this thread and peoples opinions on them one way or the other that gets my vote as the most patronising comment I have read for a while on here.
It is also complete b@ll@ocks.

That's quite impressive actually. It took 5 whole pages for some idiot to come on here with the catch-all 'just because you lost' argument.
That's 4 more pages than I expected.

It strikes me no matter what anybody says on these boards about almost any topic your comments always finish up with the same old slag at Wigan. We get the picture; you don’t like us, fine but give the dead horse a rest and do like most of us are trying to do, be constructive in regards to rugby league, and SL in particular. You don’t have to finish every quote with a dig at Wigan, it devalues your input.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

Are people not genuinely amazed by that - how wanting SL to be streamlined and strengthened by reducing the numbers of hangers-on who are weakening the product, how wanting better administrators, how wanting to up the game's profile etc - could seriously be portrayed as a self-interested approach, and yet that obsessed clown has managed it.

To me it's fairly clear that the negativity towards Rugby League on some forums is very distorted by a club prism.

| 5 or 6 years ago it was Saints fans on this board attacking us for making entirely valid criticisms of the SC and other RL financial management failures. Now we've got Leeds fans defending the failed status quo.
Wigan fans have been consistent in our criticisms. In 2010 we could have done what Leeds and Saints fans did when they had success, but Wigan fans stuck to their guns and continued to attack the SC and the appalling financial mismanagement of RL. It was hilarious to see the dismay of the "my club first" morons who support other clubs who expected Wiganers to make the same short-sighted and selfish mistakes that they did.
Yet more proof that Wigan fans, unlike those of many other clubs, are able to look beyond the narrow, short term self-interest of their club and look to the long term interests of the game.

My God, I thought you were joking when you said that on the other thread - you actually believe Wigan fans are inherently superior!

Hard to tell if we are, owing to the calibre of posters from other teams we get here.

| Isn't the playoff format the first thing that needs changing? There is currently no incentive to non RL fans to go to regular season games cos it doesn't matter where you finish to win the big prize.
A lot of current RL fans are not renewing next season for the same reason. You feel like you're being short-changed.

I didn't set out with that view when I first started reading and posting on rflans.com.
Unfortunately nearly a decade of moronic comments from fans of other clubs on these boards have provided a huge body of evidence which is impossible to ignore.
