| Maybe you're losing penalty counts because you're transgressing more than the opposition? Just a thought

i think most fans would accept losing some penalty counts but every week, even when Wigan are dominant, it doesn't make sense. Why when a side is well on top and dominant would they concede penalties NK has provided examples where for example Salford have averaged 9 penalties conceded every week, but against Wigan only conceded 3. Wigan were dominant in that game, so you would expect Salford to concede more, and certainly more than Wigan Similar with the league game v FC earlier in the season, Wigan dominated that game but were on the end of the penalty count i know i would prefer winning games v penalty counts, but there is no doubt that it can have an influence on the result of a game, especially if every week penalty / set restarts are stacked up against a team. I think in the game v Leeds which we lost it was a stacked penalty count and 3 set restarts (note i'm not saying that is the reason we lost but could have been a contributing factor)

Wigan are still the least penalised club in SL.We lose the pen count each week as the referee penalises our opposition less when they play Wigan than when they play other teams. The penalty data shows this. eg Both Leigh and Hudds played at the Brick and neither club conceded a single penalty. Just look at both their penalty counts against other oppositions. That referees treat Wigan's opposition team differently than they usually do against other SL teams seems to be a claim backed up by the data.

We've had that line already. Maybe you can be the first person to say it who will give a view on why we get so few penalties? We got 3 at your place, when we were totally dominant, we got zero against Huddersfield, when we were dominant, we got 3 against a Salford reserve side, who had given away 9 a game and 12 on opening night and so on and on. We've had 3 fixtures this season were we got either 1 penalty or zero. That Is utter madness. This isn't about losing penalty counts in reality or what we give away, it's about what we get and I've yet to see an opposition fan come back with a view on that, other than to say 'tough'. BTW-You've had 49 penalties in 8 games, compared to our 18. You've had 16 penalties in your last 2 games. HKR gave away 10 against you last week, in a game they won reasonably comfortably. They gave away 3 in a game they lost the week before against us.

You really haven't understood this at all, have you? This is not about how many we give away but about how many we receive. Please explain how we're responsible for other teams discipline and how many penalties refs give against other teams? And just to answer your question; we aren't transgressing more than other teams. We're the least penalised team in the league.

| The Wigan vs HKR and then Hull vs HKR games interested me. If you didn't know which way around it was, you would presume when HKR lost by 16, they would've given away 10 penalties and when they won by 14, they would've given away just the 3 but it was the opposite way around. You would also think a team making you back pedal, busting you open, making ground etc would make you give away more penalties but again the stats don't back that up. The below stats are what Hull FC and Wigan came up with in attack against HKR-
Hull FC Metres-1171 Tackle Busts-26 Clean breaks-4
Penalties Received-10
Wigan Metres-1576 Tackle busts-55 Clean breaks-5
Penalties Received-3

| I wonder if Wigan are just better at finishing off those clean breaks and tackle busts thereby not giving HKR a chance to concede a penalty whereas FC are not as clinical so a scrambling HKR defence manages to shut it down and gives away a penalty in the process?

I don't know the reason other than it isn't a conspiracy against wigan. hull kr gave a stack of penalties away due to ill discipline when we were on top.

Clearly a conspiracy in favour of wigan given you have conceded the least number of penalties or maybe refs in your games give both sides more latitude hence your penalties conceded and given both being the lowest

One game was a bad tempered local derby with 16 penalties and a sending off whereas the other was a clash against the 2 current best sides in the comp, a showpiece event where the ref was probably trying to let the game flow. According to the SL website you only conceded 5 in that game so comparatively low on both sides
