In answer to your first question, yes, we have won something recently; the Challenge Cup.
This year we won one trophy and Saints won none, advantage Wigan. If we look in the past (ie anything before this year) we completely eclipse them. Game, Set and Match.

We beat them in the semi-final of the challenge cup and actually went to the final and won.... nothing to be bitter about.

So in the last 2 years it's Wigan 3 trophies and Saints none but we've been fairly equal.
You guys won a challenge cup back in 05 wasn't it so youve been pretty much as good as us as well recently.
Bramley won the CC in 1900 so they're up there as well. |

As somebody who grew up watching Wigan pick up trophy after trophy (including being present at the 89 Final), if you had showed me that in 1995 I would have taken it. Records are always there to be broken and one day a team (not necessarily Saints) will match and beat Wigans record. Strange things happen in sport and yes enjoy your "FIOS" gimmick if you need to. I'm quite happy with Saints progress and yes I'm disappointed with another Grand Final defeat, however the future is certainly exciting for St Helens RLFC. |
