This is already in the regulations as it happens

Said on twitter that he hopes to be back this week, but it's more likely next week.

Quote: Aboveusonlypie "Hi folks, my first ever post on this site. I was at the game on Sunday sitting in the stand and none of us saw the challenge on Blake when it happened. However when I saw it on warrior tv that night it looked bad but not necessarily THAT late. I don't think that Paterson is a particularly dirty player and remember that Blake is a tough lad and will expect a tough time out there, remember it was Sandercock's last chance of hanging on to his job. Hull KR's tactics have received a lot of criticism but for 30 minutes they matched us in what was a pretty good performance until Sam's brilliance turned the game. Banning someone for the length of time that Blake will be out is nonsensical. Should Joe Wardle not get any ban because Carl Ablett wasn't injured? Paterson's hit was no worse than Micky Macs back in September - although Micky at least chose a forward to dish it out to- I can understand the frustration as Blake has confounded the sceptics amongst you and is having a great season. Perhaps Shaun Wane does know a thing or two eh?'"

The game is tough enough already, without cheap shots like that. Paterson is a good player, but there was no need for that shot, he went in deliberately to hurt him. Now I don't know about banning people for the length of time the player is out for [If Green comes back after 3, does Paterson's ban get reduced?] but it surely should be taken into account, and should a deliberate and vicious hit like that cause injury, it should increase the ban.

No it isn't.

It has never been the case and nor should it ever be.

What you are proposing is pitchfork justice

It's pretty impossible to decide intent in these things. The game is indeed tough enough but who hasn't laughed at the exploits of for example Kelvin Skerritt in the past. Most fans tend to hate it when it happens to one of their own and turn a blind eye when the boot is on the other foot. I reckon a 4 game ban is about right. It was high and it was late but as to the intent unless you happen to be a personal friend of Corey Paterson or maybe his wife, how would you ever know if he intended it.

I do know this, without looking at the stats for the game, I don't reckon he got too involved after the hit. I would hazard a guess that he knew deep down he'd hit him with a bad one and regretted it, unless he is a complete psychopath (and there is no evidence of this) he wouldn't have enjoyed seeing Blake half walk/half supported from the field . Now he'll have a month on the sidelines to contemplate it. Funnily enough at the time Wigan didn't look like scoring and it took Sam moving to SO to change things round, although that is incidental to the argument.

We will get the chance to see more of our brilliant youngsters in action against London and maybe also after the Leeds game against Wakey and Widnes. Blake will be back for the Warrington game and the cup match and to my mind another plus is that he'll miss the Exiles game. Which after what happened last year must have been a worry for SW. We'll only have Pat to worry about.

Look, you've only been on here two minutes and already you're talking sense. This is going to have to stop.

He knew and the Wigan players knew it was a bad one. He took up a drive in the next set and got pummelled by about 5 or 6 Wigan defenders who went hunting for him.

5 mins later he was rubbing his leg and wasn't seen much for the rest of the game.

Agreed. It certainly galvanised H into his best performance of the season. The positive thing for me though was that we kept our discipline, which didn't happen last season on a number of occasions. By all accounts it wasn't so disciplined off the pitch!

Strangely enough, quite often when these things happen it affects the aggressors performance. They bombed a certain try just after when Hall (I think) panicked and dropped it when clean through which would have given them a 10-0 lead.

They really caught us on the hop with the short kick off and had scored before we had the ball in our hands. I'm certain that the roughhouse stuff didn't really help them at all. A lesson, perhaps too late, for Mr Sandercock.

Another game I think that the young Wigan forwards were not intimidated by a bigger rougher pack (e.g. Catalans, Warrington)

Quote: goobervision "From my experience of sitting with the Hull KR fans yesterday you are not going to have a sensible conversation with them... I wouldn't mind if it was the usual one eyed biased view but it was also simply made up drivel through the entire game.

Sam held back in the break down the left wing, pushed the Hull player - he should be send off, dirty &$^£.

Eric taken high and reacted, Wigan typical dirty ^^£@!

Offfsssiiiideee/Forwarddddd - Dobson was well offsite (1-2m) in about 50% of the plays.

Conversation with the nice bloke behind me with his wife and two under 5s.

Him, "typical dirty f&$ks"
Me, "errm, what about Blake Green being cleaned out by you lot?"
Him, "What the $^£& are you going to do about it?"

And that mixed in with "oh the big clubs get away with it" all the way through.

Normally you can have a bit of banter with the locals, but the gene pool seems to be somewhat limited over there.'"

Just to add my 2p. Haven't seen the incident but it sounds pretty bad. Disappointed we've resorted to do that sort of stuff, especially on Blake who was a class act for us.

And just to confirm, we aren't all imbeciles like the gentleman you so eloquently described, just the vast majority are morons! icon_iamwithstupid.gif icon_iamwithstupid.gif icon_iamwithstupid.gif icon_iamwithstupid.gif icon_iamwithstupid.gif icon_iamwithstupid.gif icon_iamwithstupid.gif icon_iamwithstupid.gif

Lucky his leg wasnt broken then eh.
He deserved the ban but your comment is frightfully condescending. Paterson did one of ours so we went hunting in a pack! icon_lol.gif

Blake Green said last night he was looking at being back for the Wire game.
He didn't think it would be 6 weeks.

Just read something really odd in the disciplinary report*** No adverse reaction from opponents ***
Coaching staff are working on his technique.
Player apologised to opponent and has shown remorse for the injury sustained.'"

So does this mean that if our players had kicked off with Paterson, this would have made it a more serious offense?

Bloody stupid to allude to, if you ask me.

Glad he held his hands up though.
