| I wouldn't be writing off Wire's pack tbh. They've got a really good set of backs and their forwards have plenty more to give imo. The likes of Hill and Westwood have been playing well but some have been underperforming yet they're better players then they've shown and they'll really turn it on when it matters.
The league leaders, the grand final and the challenge cup will all be taken out by Wigan or Wire imo and even though we're playing the better rugby there won't be a great deal between the sides in knock out matches.
I'd love both the challenge cup final and grand final to be Wigan vs Wire games. The big games deserve the best sides to be in them and theres no doubt we're the best two around at the moment.

| For me I'd take Hill and Grix off their hands.
Hill because he's a good hardworking English prop, and Grix cause he can play in a vareity of positions (to a good standard) in the forwards and backs.

| no doubt at all we are missing our first choice hooker and first choice scrum half, plus the extra dimension (no pun intended) that Solomona gives us in attack.
Solid without being spectacular..building to the business end....its going to be between us and Wigan I feel.

| Lovely actions by Westwood tonight when getting up from the challenge which knocked the Leeds player out.
Nothing wrong with the tackle but his reaction post-incident was disgusting.

I'm pretty sure he was just happy to put on the big hit...I'm sure when he realised he'd knocked him out he calmed down....and he did clap him off. Nothing illegal..and if one of your players had made that shot... you'd be cheering.
Now gouging....that's a proper way to put somebody down.

| Warrington score a few tries past a woeful Leeds and they gain the confidence to start spamming our board again.

| If Phil Clarke had to comment here he would say that Wigan fans troll better than any Warrington clown ever could.

| Leeds we're shocking and I think they only came back into it because wire took the pedal of the gas. Wire handled the ball very well considering the conditions and I get the feeling they aren't playing to anywhere near their full potential yet. Wire as a team are just as good as we are and I think come play off time it will be a tough one. I can't help but feel they are saving something for then, I just hope we still have enough left to still be up there. Hopefully a good squad rotation in particular with the forwards we should be just as ready.
Awful stuff from Leeds though. Nothing to offer in attack, no one running off the ball, no gaps being created etc and only the individual brilliance of Burrow's causing any trouble. Constantly losing the collision in the tackle, Peacock and co seemed to be getting driven backwards with every carry. I don't know how Mcnamara can justify having 6 of their players in the England squad. Ryan Atkins outclassed Ablett in every department. Leeds are in real trouble and I'm loving every minute of it.
As for that tackle at the end, I didn't see anything wrong with it personally. Not really sure what that was all about.

Big hit? Is that what they call accidental head clashes now?
Not really a big hit.

There does seem to be rather a lot of head clashes this season.
Tackling technique going out of the window ?

| It's getting dangerous really. I think the defender should be punished in instances like westwoods tonight. Surely it should be the defenders responsibility to use the correct tackling technique and make sure a head clash doesn't happen.
I love seeing a good 'big hit' where the shoulder is stuck in, below neck height, but some players have just started to run in as fast and hard as they can, without regard for technique.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Obviously there is a responsibility from the defender to use decent technique in order to protect the oponent while still inflicting pain, as long as it is fair. There is also just accidents. Westwood seemed to try to use his body to hit him hard, Westwood was just going for the big hit and I don't think he was being careless.

| I actually thought that Wire were excellent first half and they either went off the boil, took their foot off the gas knowing they had won the game or Leeds improved. It does worry me how confident some Wigan fans are on this forum.
How on earth the Warrington pack can be criticised is beyond me! I agree that they don't look as good as the Wigan six but Warrington will push us all the way this year and let's be fair they look the only team that are capable of doing so.
I am just worried that people are getting overconfident. I sat watching the first half thinking this Wire side is very very good so I don't want to be too over confident before we have actually won anything!
