Quote Scouse Pie2="Scouse Pie2"I know, it's terrible playing in a 25,000 seater stadium that we pay buttons for and don't have to contribute to any repairs! I know some of the traditionalists will disagree, but facilities wise, I'd take the DW over CP any day.
I should point out that I'm not knocking LP at all. It looks a fantastic stadium and I can't wait for Good Friday. We need more modern 21st century stadiums in SL.'"
Personally, I thought Central Park was great, a proper rugby ground, with a good atmosphere.....DW is poor in comparison has an actual RUGBY LEAGUE ground.
Always makes me laugh when people go on about facilities.....Jeez, its 90 minutes, standing watching a rugby match, not a trip to the opera....As long as you aren't stood a foot deep in mud and other folk's urine, then what's the problem.
Of course we don't want to stand still as a sport and be stuck in archaic grounds, but I really think a lot of the new grounds have struggled to find their own 'voices' in terms of atmosphere.
The problem in the 'good old days' was that most clubs neglected their stadiums and let them fall to rack and ruin....As a traditionalist, I'd have much prefered it if Wire had shown some foresight to keep Wilderspool upgraded at various intervals, instead of letting it rot.
