It wasn’t similar to those, no.

Most of us? There’s literally you and Phuzzy who want to give me a hard time whenever I comment. Everyone else is fine. I don’t aim to argue or wind folk up, I just want to discuss rugby with rival fans now and then; it’s as simple as that. So let’s stop derailing threads and talk rugby.

I thought Bullock has a broken hand? I’d roll with a team like this, I don’t see the point of playing the likes of Powell & Hastings, save them for the semi final.

He's named in the 21 man squad. Maybe swap him for Clarke then. It's a total guess to be honest. Agree regarding Powell and Hastings, they're important pieces of the puzzle right now, and it would be good to give Smith and Borough the game time. I can see them both being required a lot more in the near future if games stack up, and next year if Leuluai retires/Hastings leaves.

| Quote: The Yellow Giraffe "I 100% stand by that. Rogues goes on redvee to wind people up. Yesterday he made a comment about Ian Millward and Terry Newton that had to be removed.
If you read my comments on here you won’t find any example of that.'"
Did I bring Terry Newton into the thread?
Did I bring Stuart Hall and Fred Talbot into the thread with it's connotations?
Just so people KNOW what I said about Millward was that he screwed Terry Newton over. I clarified that by saying that Newton never wanted to leave Wigan and was at that time GB's first choice #9. I stand by that as one of the worst decisions I have ever seen made by a Wigan coach. I should have added that it didn't take long for Brian Noble to move Higham, starting by bringing in Shane Millard and then "Piggy Riddell"
I also stated that I had posted about the 20in2020 as a marketing opportunity on here before I did on RedVee, so how was that winding anyone up?

I didn’t say you did bring Terry Newton into it. What you said was “it was very sad what happened to Newton, Millward really screwed him over.” There was a clear insinuation of a link between what happened to him and something Millward did. It was low and that’s why it was deleted.
As far the other comments, they weren’t made by me so I’m not responsible for those.
The 2020 comment wasn’t made to wind folk up, no. I was talking in general that you do deliberately go on there for that purpose.
None of this has anything to do with this thread or the game tonight.

No it wasn't, that's how you interpreted it and why I explained it the way it was meant.
Ask anyone on here if they thought it was the right decision to replace Newton with Higham.

| Moving on from quite a dark conversation. What are people looking forward to from this game? Hanley seems the obvious one, I know many wanted him to debut before now. Not sure what space he will get to work with today though. Big opportunity for Greenwood to dispell the 'soft' characterisation if he plays. He will be one of the senior forwards playing against a much bigger, stronger pack. Does he lead from the front and get stuck into them, or go missing when it's tough?
Rogues - you know a lot about our younger players, anyone you'll be particularly keeping an eye on?

| I've just seen an interview with Harry Smith on Wigan t.v. and he more or less stated that there will be five debuts given tonight. Umyla Hanley, Sam Halsall ( i wonder who his dad will be cheering for ) Kai Pearce-Paul, Harry Rushton and Ben Kilner.
Jake Shorrocks will definitely play.

Really looking forward to seeing what Kai Pearce-Paul can do, he looks a little on the light side to me at the moment but apparently he has a lot of talent. Still has time to fill out with him being a young lad but signs look promising.
Unsure why Jake Shorrocks is still sniffing around the club. The lad went to Salford and I’ve heard Gleeson state he has nothing to offer.

Aye, he’s a big lanky thing Pearce-Paul but there’s plenty of filling out to do. I recall watching the highlights of him when he signed and he had a fabulous offloading game and I wonder if in the early days of his first team career if he could play a bit of centre. He certainly looks a good enough athlete to be able to do that and it wouldn’t hurt to have two ways in to the side.
