I think people rate Morley as one of the best British props over the past few decades. I think that’s fair. And not overrated. To you think differently?

Yes, i could name many who were better all rounders than him. If you wanted a big hit or to rough the opposition up then Morley could do it but his general game was a level behind that of Peacock, Fielden, Graham. San Burgess just to name 4 who played in the last 10 years. These 4 were truly world class props in their prime, a level above Morley who was a good player but not the messiah of prop forwards that people make him out to be.

I, and probably many others would put Morley in the same company as Graham, Fielden, Burgess and Peacock.
Just for the records;
Morley played over 200 games more than Burgess, including doubling his international appearances, but performing at the highest levels in the NRL.
Over 100 more games than Fielden
More games than Peacock (who was never tested in the NRL)
More games currently than Graham
His performances and accolades are there for all to see.
So you think Ito suggest he's in the same company as the ones you've listed makes him overrated?

| Morley was a different type of forward to Peacock, Fielden or Graham. Sam Burgess was more similar but still not quite as intimidating as Morley at his peak. If you wanted a forward to churn out metre after metre for you, he probably wouldn’t be the first one you’d pick but the things he brought to a side were immeasurable. He was a throw back in a lot of ways and I loved watching him play. He terrorised teams and we’d kill for a player like that in an England shirt at present. I thought the likes of Walmsley, Thompson and Tom Burgess gave us a stark look at where we’re at currently on that recent tour.

You make a good point. I think this current GB team would massively benefit for an 'in his prime Morley'.

| Walmsley is a prime example of how weak superleague has become. He is probably the 2nd best prop in the comp after Thompson but he was woeful on that tour and in years gone by he’d have been chewed up by guys like Peacock, Morley or Fielden. His weaknesses haven’t been exposed at superleague level but Tonga, NZ and even PNG made him look clumsy and sluggish.
It was a real reality check that tour for the game over here.

What, like getting sent off in the very first tackle of the game?

Ha! Do you think that defines Morley's whole career then? I remember a certain Shaun Edwards almost decapitating Bradley Clyde, Sam Burgess killing Thaiday with a high shot, and wasn't Jamie Peacock in a punch up once? hhmmm...

No, i just found it amusing that you think GB need Adrian Morley when the only thing of any note that i remember him doing in a GB shirt is getting sent off on the first tackle of the game.

And what did your beloved Kelvin Skerrett ever do in a GB shirt? What more was he than an intimidating prop forward who ran around punching people and getting sent off?
I’m sorry but you can’t sit there and back Skerrett to the high hilt who was overly aggressive and violent to intimidate opponents and was sent off regularly whilst slating Morley for getting sent off once v Australia.

No wonder they all wore arm guards in them days!
I still remember being sat in the South Stand and the roar that erupted when Morley dropped him was immense. Sadly the replays came on the screen and you knew he was done.
Gansons fault!

Hard to take your opinion onboard when your only take away of Morley is a sending off offence.

I was right at the back in the North stand with my Dad and all his work mates, we all had no idea he had been sent off until we got home
IIRC this was the game that afterwards there was a huge game of rugby broke out in the gap between what was JJB and the store to the left and it was brilliant. Best GB game I went to that one for me, atmosphere was incredible!
