Catalans have a problem IMO. There are groups of lads turning up to games and standing under that away section looking for trouble. I went down and stood down there during that April 2018 game and had to bite my lip because there were people there looking for trouble.'"
We went to the game in 2017 and I noticed a few Catalans lads who seemed to be there for a bit of trouble. It was down to our left inbetween the main body of Wigan fans and the other Wigan fans in that temporary type of stand down the side. There were only a few of them and it never developed into anything other than a bit of verbals.
I know Warrington fans have a bit of history but I can honestly say that after several visits to both Wilderspool and the HJ over the years, I have never witnessed any trouble. Each club will have a few idiots, maybe Warrington have a few more that surface from time to time. The lure of a few days away in France/Spain with the chance to drink all day will no doubt have attracted a few.

| Quote: Father Ted "When the RFL start dishing out the bans it will be interesting the length of them as three matches for a Wire player means he will miss the C Cup Final.
They may well issue two match bans with large fines instead. Not many players get banned for the Final.
We shall see!'"
Chris Hill should definitely get a lengthy ban. He was supposedly one of the two captains on the field, and yet he was instigating trouble throughout that incident.
Just imagine - Hill banned and Austin injured. It'll goodbye Challenge Cup before they even get there.

| Quote: RichieS "Warrington Wolves will easily identify the instigators, they should be banned for life, no reprisals! Every game I have been to involving Warrington fans, be it home or away (even the Grand Final), I have experienced a level of hostility from their fans that is unrivaled. I get that most don't like Wigan, comes with the territory, but by God they actually raise it up a notch to a level that you know by giving it back would easily escalate to violence or projectiles. Always found it better to just laugh it off! Leaving the Halliwell Jones is the only occasion in rugby league when I have my lad with me that you actually feel a little uneasy.'"
Agreed - its the only away ground I’ve been to where I’ve ben verbally abused and called scum for some reason. I was just walking down the road with my much younger teenage sister I was taking to her first away game, lovely.

| Not backing up the Wire fans - because they always look for trouble when we play them - but there has obviously been some provocation for them to start climbing up the stands. No excuse but let’s see what the investigation reveals.
Points deductions at least I’d say

| As others have said, the HJ is the only away ground I go to where I feel uneasy walking out. The club has a real problem, and the majority of Warrington supporters quietly condone it by trying to push blame onto the Catalans fans, referee, and even bizarrely try to bring Wigan into it

| Always disliked Wire since the 2009 CC semi at Widnes.
Coming off the train there was fighting all the way down into the town, and then again afterwards them going way beyond banter winding us up about the result.

| Quote: NickyKiss "As with all clubs the vast majority of their fans are brilliant and it’s only something I noticed during our most recent trip there in April 2018. There were no problems at the Nou Camp but I certainly noticed it during that game I mentioned and there was a football hooligan element to their support. I’m not saying Wire are blameless, ultimately we don’t know what’s gone on really but from what I’ve seen myself when going there, I wouldn’t be laying all the blame at Warrington's door yet.'"
Yes I was about to say this. At Nou Camp we sat amongst them rather than with the Wigan fans and there were attempts to provoke. There was plenty of pushing and shoving and general edness around the bars too which I just put down to them being French
That said it doesn’t excuse any fans resorting to violence, it’s much easier to just walk away or report it to stewards/police/club officials.

No, but I have just been reading your board. I've never seen such claptrap as some of the posts on there. I wasn't intending commenting, preferring to take the view that it's better left to the judiciary and any ongoing investigations. However, the level of blame apportioning on your board is utterly ridiculous. Wigan, who weren't even playing, have come in for more criticism from some than your own club, team or fans!

| Strange that the referee is getting the blame. Because of the production you could clearly hear the referee talking to the players all through the game, it's hardly his fault that they took no notice is it?
He sent two players to the sin bin early on, which should have been a warning to the players to calm down. McIlorum can feel very hard done by in that instance, he was merely trying to pull Hill away from the Catalan player.

It truly must be the end times when. Rogues is speaking the most sense.

| Everything is the fault of ref, dirty cheating cat players or Wigan. Wire were doing everything to slow the game down the doctor seemed to show up when they needed him to interrupt Cats. Wire were warned for 5 high shots in second half the ref called them for it. They played the spoiling tactics like their opponent
The club and fans should be calling out the fans for their behaviour. Reading some comments the fans are a cross between the UN peace keepers and mother thereasa 'for God's sake think of the children'.i can't believe that Ratchford was trying to go and thank the fans.

£10k is pocket change to Simon Moran. I'm not sure what the answer is but a fine will have no impact whatsoever.
