| One slight negative for me is that I would have liked Lam to have had a clear plan in mind of what he wants from French. In the WEP he acknowledges he doesn't know where he'll fit in. Hope it won't end up being a case of square pegs in round holes.

I read that report as, he will be in the team, it depends how people go this season as to who misses out next year if everyone is fit. He puts pressure on every single back we have to perform as he can fit in from 1 - 7.

Or maybe he doesn’t want to say 1 as it would confirm Hardaker is off or say 6 as he doesn’t want to give the game away about Sammut and maybe Tommy?
My guess is he will start on the wing which is probably a good thing as it will be easier to bed into the side slowly but he must be earmarked for 1,6 or a centre spot.

I took that to mean for this season. George is leaving next so I'm assuming that's the plan for 2020.

| He has signed to play as a running 6 to partner jackson hastings in the halves. Hastings plays both sides of the park as a typical old fashioned 7 1st receiver.
He has only come in this year as he wont have enough NRL appearances next year to get a work permit

| Think it will ultimately be a straight choice between French at 6 or French to 1 with Hardaker to right centre.
This year he might end up edging out Marshall on the wing. Or Burgess for that matter - his form hasn't exactly been great.

I presume that works both ways and French will have to perform himself of he won't be picked?
Reading some comments he's already considered a better winger than Budgie or Marshall, he's good enough at FB to force a position change on Hardaker and is also going to be a six and you are also suggesting he can play centre are you not? He's some player for the NRL to let go if he's that good. Is there any evidence of this? I watched the YouTube highlights of him scoring some spectacular tries on the wing but if you took the time you could put a similar video together for our current wingers. Marshall has made some equally impressive finished for example.
He's an exciting signing but are people not exaggerating what he is capable of? If he ends up playing at full back or on the wing then do we actually gain that much over what we have already?

| I’d imagine he’ll have Sammut/Shorrocks bench spot in 2019 and then compete for the 6 or 1 jersey in 2020. It’s funny that he’s played most of his NRL rugby on the wing yet I’m convinced it’s the last place we’re planning on playing him. A team with 4 wingers doesn’t sign another winger.

| If French is playing on the wing it should be in front of Burgess not Marshall, Marshall has been our best winger this season and Burgess is living off his 1st spell at Wigan, he’s been poor all season bar 2/3 games and needs a boot up the backside
