| A bit rich coming from someone who follows a club that doesn't appear to declare its crowds.

And 21,000 is too big for Leeds, what’s your point?

| Quote: Orrell Lad "If 2-3000 fans who have S/T or tickets aren’t actually showing up, the club need to be asking them why. This whole “it’s the number of tickets sold” smokescreen won’t wash.
What’ll happen next season when those people don’t bother to buy a ticket in the first place and crowds drop thousands more. The club should be extremely concerned by this trend. Others will be watching thinking - crowd looks awful, don’t fancy that again. Just like when crowds are rising it encourages floating fans to jump on the bandwagon to be involved. It’s happening in reverse.
It’s been mentioned on other threads but the marketing of individual games is beyond pitiful. You get a quickly knocked up poster that is shared on the club’s social media channels and that’s it. They don’t even make sense, Burgess doing a hush gesture for a game against London, WTF! It’s like they don’t want big crowds.
What happened to The Big One? Family promotions? Heinz cheap tickets? Heritage day, etc.
FFS on Thursday they GAVE AWAY 100 tickets because it was Gildart’s 100th game the week before
Someone gets it....
This is exactly what I was fishing for and seems nobody else could be bothered....
Well perhaps that is a reflection of how Wigan is now being run...
The Big One...that was in my mind when I fished for a response.
OK you had 3 x TBO and the first 2 vs Wire and Leeds(I think) backfired as a result but crammed the fans in...I often wondered after the first 2 flops Wigan decided to make the 3rd Huddersfield, because it was never measure up to the first 2...yes I know Huddersfield was League Leaders.
Anyway back on topic...Wigan promotion is weaker than the missus makes my coffee. It's not sneaky dig...it's a disappointed rival.
Our game next week should be massive on BBC...Wire have rolled out the Star Wars promotion...what have Wigan done?

| So you say. Where are they on the Rhino website, sky sports, local news outlets, sporting life, BBC sport etc etc? In fact, I couldn't even find the attendance for Leeds V Broncos on the Bronco's site either - surely they'd let the opposition know and give them the choice whether to publish it, but it looks like Leeds is the North Korea of SL, where factual information doesn't come out very easily.
There's a big difference between some geezer saying a figure once, and then publishing it in writing where it will be recorded forever. We may have low crowds at the moment, but at least we are man enough to publish the figure.

| Toronto v Bradford attracted 3000 more than Cas v Wire. Great effort that.

| Leeds have far bigger problems than the need to announce how many free student tickets they have handed out.

The mode average is the reoccurring average that tells a truer picture...and Wire are ahead of Wigan this season for the first time in decades. Probably 1980.
A mean and median average will always get offset by the Saints and Wire derbies vs Wigan and never show the picture that the TV screen does against other teams.

| Wire are doing good things and should be applauded. They are trying different ideas, building games up as individual events, engaging with the fans, players taking training sessions with kids in local parks... the kind of things that Wigan made their trademark when they cared.
And Wire may be only seeing modest gains at the minute but they are laying a foundation for future growth. If you do nothing, you will go backwards and that’s what’s happening at the DW. I’m not too upset about what’s happening on the field, that can be turned around in a year or two. Off the field though is deeply worrying. Mr Lenagan please wake up!

I completely agree. Off the field at Wigan is far more concerning at the moment.

its what you have to work with as you cant have it both ways, Saints will have been hit by playing wigan on Thursday instead of Friday like we did last year. Weve had Catalans and London at home this year you havent with 0 away support. So in effect Wire arent doing better than Wigan. Bear in mind Wire get saints also and Wigan so the attendances get the same boost.

Yes I think you might have missed...
I specifically said the mode average. It's the regular most common and that is coming in 10-11k. Wire hitting 11+ on most games.
The most common average that people default too of collective median and mean, we'd probably never match.
Anyway I'm not measuring thr penis, I'm highlighting the defective promotional work...Wigan can no longer rely on success as the machine, because there simply aren't enough competitions and Wigan aren't winning then as regular as they used too.

| I live in Auckland and go to all the NZ Warriors home games. You know what keeps be coming back despite the Warriors awful form?
It costs $15 for a ticket (7 Quid). If you're a Vodafone customer you get 2 for 1 on tickets, so thats 3 pound fifty.
With that I get free train travel to and from the stadium.
The other week your Warriors ticket also gave you entry to watch the Blues Super Rugby game at Eden Park.
So thats 3 pound fifty for 2 games of rugby, 4 train rides and a live spectacle of some of the worlds best athletes.
Take note Wigan.

| Prices have risen too quickly for sure. I was talking to Saints fans on GF and Wigan wanted £29 off them to sit in the West Stand due to the North selling out. Sorry but £29 is not acceptable for the ordinary fan.
Add to this the season ticket farce and the renewal date getting earlier. I paid for mine on 10th August last year, 6 months before the season kicked off! May have to give it a second thought this year...
