| It was anything but a masterclass IMO. Our defence was very good with some wonderful last ditch tackles and scrambling but with ball in hand we were very poor. Only 2 individual efforts got us over the line and Tommys try was down to poor Cas defence as much as determination from Tommy, they should of stopped him if we're honest. O'loughlin saved his worst performance in years for the most important game so far this year but hopefully he will be back to his old self next weekend and Sutton was just as bad. As much as im glad we won, we got most of the 50/50 calls and Cas let us off the hook time and time again with unforced errors. If anybody thinks that kind of performance will do next week they are mistaken. Warrington will be determined not to lose another Grand Final and we will have to have all 17 players have the game of their life. I would also start with Farrell and allow him to do the early heavy work and bring Greenwood on fresh when O'Loughlin goes off and the game opens up slightly. I would also be tempted to have Hamlin or Tautai on the bench instead of Escare so that we have plenty of forward power.

| I'm certainly no Wigan fan that's for certain
But that semi final performance was outstanding and your defensive effort for 80 minutes was exceptional
A repeat of that performance in the GF will see you win without a doubt IMO
I'd love to wish you luck but I can't
Enjoy the day guys

It was a guess

I think you're being too kind. Our attack will have to be much sharper to trouble Warrington if they play as they did against Saints.

Wire will cause us more issues than Cas did on Friday, and we need to be sharper with the ball also. It will need another step up if wire perform as they can do.

| If Wigan defend like we did on Friday, we’ll win. We’ve not had more than 2 tries scored against us for ages and we’re more than capable of scoring more than 2. It’s not often I’m confident of beating Warrington but this time, I am. It’ll be a perfect end to the Wane era.

The defence on Friday was excellent and to be fair Warrington's defence on Thursday was pretty decent too.
For me if both teams defend in a similar manner then the outcome could depend on goal kicks, penalties, mistakes or just rub of the green which would give Wire more than an chance of winning.
Our attack in the last few weeks has lost its fluidity since the Saints game when we looked on top of our game in defence and attack. Personally I feel we need a similar performance to the Saints game to give us that edge over a Wire team who will want the win as much as we do.
Minibus and tickets sorted within an hour so of the final whistle on Friday and Im looking forward to a beltin day out and hopefully a victory.

| Something that we've been really, really good at in the big games in recent years has been our ability to out-last the opposition. Whether that's having the energy to make a late comeback, or the ability to physically exhaust teams like last week against Cas.
Bearing this in mind, I think the first 20 minutes next week is absolutely massive. If we start on the front foot, get them defending and keep errors to an absolute minimum, then I wonder if they'll have the ability to live with us in the final 20 unless they already have a sizeable lead.
The lungs & legs in this team is absolutely phenomenal, and I think they'll win it for us even if our attack isn't at 100%.

I was thinking along a reflective line about our chances against Wigan. From our perspective too, the first 20 minutes is massive. We lost that period badly at Wembley and never really recovered, despite the opportunities to grasp the nettle in the final 20 minutes and pinch the game. We were much better in the opening 20 minutes against Saints last Thursday, and against Wigan in the CC. The main objective that we didn't concede a try (even after 40 minutes IIRC). Wire had enough in the final 20 minutes of these games to see it through.
I cannot see the final being a try fest, although you just never can tell in this game, and whichever side gets a lead of six or more points will have a big advantage.
It may well boil down to the fine margins of who's best at making less errors and giving away fewest penalties. Here's to an enjoyable day out!

From our perspective I’m hoping we can get a good start against Wire in a Grand Final for a change! We’ve been on the back foot in 2016 and 2013 with silly errors and Wire have gone in front. Since the 2010 GF I’ve yet to come away from one feeling we’ve really hit top form and I’m crossing my fingers Saturday will see us do that.
The one thing that keeps giving me the creeps is that Wire simply must and will win a title one day and that day could be Saturday. You must be due everything dropping in to place and I’ve always felt when Wire do finally win one, it’ll be unexpected and come on the back of a year of ups and downs rather then a season of flying along building up hype.

I've always said that 'Our year' will come off a hit and miss season. We've flown under the Radar pretty much all year and popped up at the last minute. if it is to be ours then this year is our best opportunity IMO.
All the focus is on Wigan and Wayne's last game along with Sam, Batty and Sutton; The last hurrah so to speak. Wayne will have your lads fired up all week and that what I'm most worried about. Could go either way though, your lads could either have the game of their lives and make us look stupid once again or they could overplay and loose their heads, a la Ben Flower Vs Saints. I think that if Wire have any chance we have to get off our defensive line early, restrict the space for your halves to work in and force the error.
I can see a classic being played on Saturday. Close game down to the last minute. I just hope if we're in front we have the nouse to close the game out which is something we've always struggled with.
See yous all on Saturday, here's hoping we can all enjoy a beer together, have the banter and leave it at that

Wigan will definitely need to guard against turning this into the Wane/Tomkins/Bateman Show, as that would be a total distraction from the job at hand.
In 2010, Saints allowed it to become the Keiron Cunningham Fairy Tale, and it ended up being his nightmare instead.

| On the other hand Leeds used it to perfection in winning the treble. I would hope we have the smarts and experience to work it to our advantage.

| Warrington kept Saints to one jammy try on Thursday so they must not be underestimated in that respect, not that we will. Do we know who the ref is? I ask because the way I have seen it of late is that one ref doesn't mind lying on and the slowing down the play but blows for offsides, were as the other ref isn't bothered about offsides and blows for playing infringements, OK that may sound a little too general but its the way I've seen it and it could be the key to winning the final.
