Correct
Thought Forsyth looked a bit "Soft" at Warrington but since his re-introduction I think he's got better/Tougher with each game.
I actually though Castleford was one of his stronger games and ran it in hard, tackled hard.

| I'd run with Burgess at centre. Marshall and Davies are doing great on the wings and I'd rather have a more experienced player further in field. I don't get where the accusations that Burgess can't pass are coming from, I've seen him put some really good passes back inside whilst running at full flight. Joel Tomkins is flat-footed far too easily to put at centre IMO.

Burgess is a better winger than centre.
Joel is a better 2nd row than centre.
Both should play their strongest position. What's the point of having a big squad if we're not going to use it? We have a perfectly good centre in Forsyth and we should use him.

IMO Davies and Marshall are going a lot better on the wings than Forsyth is at centre, and Burgess is devastating on his day whether you put him at centre or wing.

When has Burgess ever been devastating at centre? I think we should play players in their positions. Davis and Marshall have been better than Forsythe but Burgess is better than them on the wing, I don't think we've seen any evidence that he's much use as a centre. Also I agree Burgess has shown he can pass when he's made a break but I think there is a difference between that and passing to create a break. The chances are Forsythe will be better than he has been with Williams, Farrell and Burgess around him too. Happy to be wrong obviously.
Escare
Davis/Marshall Gelling Forsythe Burgess
Williams Leuluai
O'Loughlin
Tomkins Farrell
Flower Powell FPN
McIlorum Isa Sutton Tautai
Looks a lot more like it.

i remember him killing it at centre away at Saints when he was moved their midway through a game, think it was the first game against them after the Flower final. He also went well their in one of his last games for us before he left IIRC. Obviously not a lot of games to judge him on but he has all the skills IMO, he may even be more involved at centre which could be a benefit. It's all opinions obviously, FWIW I think Wane will go with the side you suggest.

I think your memory may be playing tricks with you
After the Flower final was 2015 and that was his last season with us before his move
Joe Played left wing and didn't switch to centre in either of the 3 games that season and in fact to my memory as hardly played or been moved to centre at all in his Wigan career.
He didn't start at centre in 2014 either
I don't ever remember him starting at Centre in a Competitive game (He started at Centre in a pre season against Leigh and was pretty average).
I like Joe and a few people on here know I know him quite well, but a centre, not for me (yet).

He definitely has played at least 2 or 3 games at centre in the past, that's why I wasn't surprised to see him named there against Widnes before he got injured.

This is the Saints game I was referring to - www.saintsrlfc.com/content/saints-v-wigan-5
Have a look on Wigan TV if you can be bothered, they reference him playing well at centre after doing poorly on the wing.
Cas at home in 2015 was the other game I referred to. He scored a try and Manfredi scored 4 outside of him. wigan.rlfans.com/news.php?readmore=4899

Saints game was a preseason game and as previously mentioned - He switched there, and I don't think playing poorly on the Wing in that game is a fair assessment of his overall abilities as a Winger, he had a bit of a dodgy start overall 2015 amidst all of the Hullabaloo about his contract with Roosters.
The CAS game to be honest I'd forgot - Couldn't tell you how much of a hand he had in Manfredi's tries, I've slept since, but don't remember it being Jamie Lyon or Steve Renouf esque
In fact Joel T played a dozen at Centre that year and Bateman 10 and a 19yr old Gildart played the last 7 games even though we had Charnley/Manfredi & Burgess fit.
1 start at centre in approximately 2 1/2 seasons suggests he's a Winger not a centre.
Bateman/Joel Tomkins/Isa all been selected more times at centre than Budgie in the same period
Anyway - I'm Sure Mr Wane etc. will make the right decision

Yeah he's definitely a winger, and a talented one at that, no argument from me there, I just think he can do pretty well at centre also. Anyway, like you say, a decision for greater minds than ours!

| Tomkins or Forsyth for me. I wouldn't be against seeing Burgess given a run at centre at some point but I probably wouldn't start it tomorrow in such a big game with him coming back from injury.
If Forsyth plays he's likely to have to switch over to the left with Burgess outside of him and Faz and Williams on the inside. I'm not sure what his natural side is but that should give him every chance.

| The only problem I have with Joel at centre is that Gelling will probably play on the right so Joel would have to play left centre when he's played most of his career on the right. I suspect it'll be Isa or Burgess at left centre.
