| MM does need to be careful though or he'll start making a reputation for himself, a la Newton. Being aggressive is fine, but it needs to be controlled...

| Quote: Rogues Gallery "Have you watched it again. Can you honestly tell me where the contact is. I have and I can't, just as I couldn't on Sunday from where I was stood (a long way from the tackle)
That's why I said if there is better video evidence then let it be used and if it's proved that the contact was to the jaw then he deserves a long ban.
The referee and touch judges saw nothing other than a penalty, no sending off no on report and they were a lot closer than I (or I suspect you ) were.'"
agreed thats what I posted before. The Wigan tv looks like he ducked a bit, but the reaction of the players and fans seems to say otherwise and they were closer and on the same side. The wigan tv angle doesnt show much.

Whether it be intent, mistiming, or miscalculation, as a player he is involved in far too many of these incidents. I'm not suggesting burning him at the stake, but his tackling technique (if it is mistiming) or whatever the problem is needs to be rectified. Whether that's a prolonged stay on the sidelines, I don't know (it's not for me to say) - but teams shouldn't face Wigan EXPECTING to have a player taken out.'"
Are you saying Cas expected someone to get taken out? And that they only expect this when playing against Wigan? Are you saying every team in SL expects to have a player taken out when playing Wigan? Or are you just having a pop at Wigan - again?

| There's a lot playing judge, jury and executioner on here. Glad some of you aren't on the judiciary panel. Just let them deal with it and do your whinging and moaning afterwards.
At the end of the day the game is often played at lightning pace and every single player goes into every single tackle to stop the opposition players, many try to dominate and "hurt" the opponent albeit usually legally. who are we to judge if these tackles often cross a line, we'd all cheer on the terraces at a huge but fair hit yet many whinge and moan when a tackle strays high or is mistimed. We as fans can't possibly judge on wether a player has deliberately tried to hurt or injure another player. I love a player who has a bit of mongrel in them, a player who is not scared to stick up for themselves ala Newton and Mickey. Where I do draw the line is when a player does what Elima did the other week something that I'm glad to say mickey could never be accused of. At he opposite end of the scale imagine how boring the game would be if we had 34 David Hodgsons turning out week in week out.

It's hardly happening far too often. Pretty sure he's only been banned twice in his professional career.

They aren't call ups, they are cited incidents, which mean very little, because if he hasn't been banned he's not done much wrong.

| Going off the current set up if you got called up twenty times you'd have had twenty bans.
Some players are being cited numerous times in one game. In Sundays game Pettybourne had 2 or 3 incidents that were looked at for example.

| Sounds fair enough. Only surprise is that we'd decided to contest it because it rarely works out well doing that.

Which is why I said in my first post (that certain people got uppity about) he was involved in "incidents" - in fact I haven't even said he's done anything wrong. I understand aggression can be mistaken for dirty, mistiming for malicious etc. But these incidents do keep occurring around mm more than average. Compare the citings to that of Jon Wilkin (who has a reputation as a "dirty player"icon_wink.gif and it's near double.
Anyway 3 games and a fine. Onwards and upwards. Interesting he didn't use the egp? Is he thinking he'll need it later?

| An EGP would still have ruled him out of Wire away. Must have thought it was worth a shot. Obviously not!
