I am a bit puzzled here, doesn't any match played in league or cup come under the jurisdiction of the governing bodies. (RFL or NFL)
By that I mean the governing bodies organise the relevant fixtures and dates matches are to be played and the clubs just get on with it.
The RFL and NFL will come to a decision on when and where the match is to be played and then it should be up to the Clubs involved to decide how they get there, then it is up to the Clubs to organise any packages or leave it to the individual if the have to make their own arrangements.

| It will be a mistake playing in Sydney.
The SFS will be lucky to get half full. Could very well lose money.
Roosters will more or less be the same, Wigan will be without very good players.
The other anomaly is the refs. If it is an Aussie ref, Ashley Klein apart, Wigan could get battered on the penalty count and the score be dreadful.
That has happened before with International matches run by Aussie refs and will most certainly happen again. Wigan should avaiod becoming willing victims.
IL & SW need to think very long and hard about this one.
If Sonny Bill Williams is playing and the other Roosters stars the DW will have over 20,000 in and the game will make a profit. We would have a SL referee who would allow a contest and a great spectacle.
Only one venue for me and that's the DW.
(I was in Brisbane '94 so I do know we've won in Aus before.)

| The sooner they make the decision the better.
Then I will decide, Sydney, DW or Tenerife.

| I'd go if it was played in Tenerife. 24,000 stadium there more than adequate.

In todays Daily Express it says that IL expects the match to be played in Australia at the Allianz Stadium on the weekend of Feb 22nd, he then goes on to say that Wigan may need to postpone two league matches if that happens.
Finally he finishes with "I'd love the Wold Club Challenge to be in Australia, hopefully that's the case-but it'll depend on negotiations".

New Zealand Warriors would probably be the club choice.

They were my first thought but I'm just wondering of the logistics of it all. They may just want to base themselves in Sydney for the full trip.

[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

| The week before this scheduled date, all NRL clubs will be competing in the Auckland 9's, so not sure how a friendly will be fitted in unless its a few weeks before.

| I'm not sure if playing a friendly would be a good idea. This wouldn't be a run out like Melbourne against London, it would be a tough game and could result in a potentially embarrassing result a week before the main event which would only serve to harm promotional efforts over there.

| Given we'll have already started the season over here (and played various warm-up games) there'll be no need for any warm-up games over in Aus.

| It seems to have gone a bit quiet during the last few weeks regarding the WCC, so I assumed that the governing bodies concerned would be getting their heads together during the WC.
I was having a wander on the NZ Warriors site tonight and came up with the following post from the NZ site.
"Just heard on the radio there could be a NZ Warriors vs Wigan Warriors warm up match before Wigan play the Roosters!"
Maybe things are moving.

Mentioned in the SMH also. www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/leag ... z2kKYfbGM8
"Still on scheduling, there seems to be an increasing possibility Wigan will play their Warriors namesakes in Auckland the week before the World Club Challenge against Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium on February 22"
Though the weekend of the 15th is the Aukland 9s, plus our SL season will have started, so I don't see how a warm-up game will be possible?
