Don't try and perpetuate an injury MYTH. (TBH I think people are influenced about Prescotts injury history because of statements like "he's never fit" and "he's always injured" and assume he's been like this for the last 4 years! Rather than look at the Facts of the situation).
If you think this seasons injury problems are a good enough reason then fair enough that's your opinion.
If you think he's not good enough (And it would be inbteresting to note is Error rate/Penalty count to other SL front line props over that same period wouldn't it?) then fair enough.
If you think that Hansen is a waste of space (Thanks for that Matty, I'd forgot who it was who came up with that earlier in the year!) then fair enough
Excuse me? As much you would enjoy me biting (which is obvious by the tone of your post) did you actually read what I wrote? I clearly started two reasons why I didn't rate Prescott, accept different people have different opinions. And yes for what it's worth Prescott does seem to be out a lot, and does lose the ball too much on impact.
Secondly when did I ever call Hansen a waste of space? Please fill your days looking through my past posts and you'll not find such a comment. I think you're now even fabricating reasons to start an argument.
What did I actually say about Hansen? You probably don't have a f^&king clue, and you probably don't care, you're just another keyboard warrior trying to fill his days.

I agree he's been off the boil these past few week's, but the majority of the team aren't clicking which won't help.'"
Yeah I remember all the inbreds jumping on me for my comment about Hansen a while back, the names that I was called over a post was a total disgrace, highlights some of the attitudes and intellect of several posters on here, so forgive me for questioning your question.
I bet half the people on here don't or can't even remember what I even said.
No doubt after your comment the inbreds will be sniffing to have another pop at me on mass.
Funny how nobody brings up how I stated Sam should be given a chance at FB etc...
Gets it's just the mentality of some of the posters on here.
Some poor lad was ripped on the rumours and signs for discussing a rumour about a signing yesterday! Whatever next!

| As far as i am concerned, the more fit and healthy players we have the better. I don't care about previous form, injury record or any other factor. In the play-offs we should play the best team available, based on ability and current form. If Dudson/Fielden show they are fit and playing well then get them in the team, if not leave them out.
Sentiment should not come into it. This should apply to Richards and tommy too, but luckily they both look ok for the play-offs.
Basically, just play the best available team in the play-offs.

I think you take your own advice and read what I wrote
I said if you don't rate him - fair enough
I said if you think his injury record "this Year" is enough to get rid of him - then fair enough
Isn't that me accepting that you can have an opinion?
I said if you are stating that he is "Always injured" (Your words so yes I did read what you posted) then his injury record for a FACT is not that which is perpetuated on this site by SOME posters.
As for the Hansen bit, I took it from Matty's post that you were one of the people who'd said we'd won 8 games without him so we may as well get rid as he's overated?
If you weren't I apologize (Matty, thanks for getting me in trouble).
If you were then I think you need to respond and let Matty know if your views of Hansen have changed?
I didn't want you to "Bite", I wanted your opinion on Prescott "always being injured" and if you felt that was still a fair argument based on his injury record over the last 4 years rather than the last 4 months?
If you want to get rid because of this years injury record - fair enough, I'll let other people judge that opinion and form their own opinion as I know what mine is.
If you want to get rid because he loses ball in contact too easily - Fair enough. I'll let other people judge that opinion as I will too (Wonder if we can get some error/penalty stats to back this up)
If you want to get rid because "he's always injured" (Your words not mine) and that means that he's always been injured over the last 2/3/4 years. Then fair enough - I just think that opinion is wrong and the facts wouldn't back up your argument?

My, we do have a bee in our bonnet on this subject don't we... For what its worth i don't think he will get another contract with us, but that does not stop me, and many others here wishing him well. You need to get some help in resolving this anger...

He's been my young player of the season for us this year - very impressed. He has a great combination of strength and speed in his game with a good pair of hands. I remember reading an article by Radlinski in which he stated that Hughes had leadership qualities which the club would be looking to nurture.
Him and Rhodri Lloyd will be two very good players for the club.

| Quote: Cherry.Pie "Our strongest pack would have Lima and Mossop as the first two props. Lauaki as a third I think requires another big strong forward as 4th prop because as I've said a few times before he doesn't really create a strong pack but he plays very well as part of one. Fielden certainly fits the bill as that big 4th choice prop who could really help create a dominant front row. '"
Agree with you RE Lauaki.
Fielden is a championship winning test international 300+ games experienced prop forward who at one point in his career was arguably the best prop forward in the world. Having him fired up playing for his future at the club in a derby game which wont have any baring on the league for us is the obvious move from Wane. Our pack has looked sluggish for a good month or so now & perhaps having Fielden/Dudson adding more competition for places will fire up the rest of the pack with the play offs coming up. Players often say that competition for places brings out the best in them so with a fully sit squad (bar Prescott) there should be no issues with players out of form.
Team for Saints:
Tomkins
Charnley Goulding Carmont Richards
Finch Leuluai
Lima McIlorum Mossop
Hansen Hock
Lockers

Dudson Fielden Hughes Smith

| Good stuff. The team (at times) have been pretty sloppy and have played like a bunch of strangers for weeks.
We know they can do it, they just need to click.

The spells Tommy had on Sunday were like night and Day for me from a Team perspective.
No Tommy = Finch running around like headless chicken trying to do too much and trying to throw suicide killer passes (I.e Trying to hit Hock coming at 100mph on a short ball back on the angle in the 1st MINUTE!).
Tommy comes on, Smith goes into the halves, and suddenly we look more balanced with Tommy utilising Goulding and Charnley far better on our right side with Finch left to control the left and looking far more comfortable and threatening due to the opposition defence having to commit more to our right side attack, making more space for Finch/Hock/carmont/Richards on the left!
I made it something like 7 of the 8 tries came when Tommy was in tandom with Finch on Sunday at half back (Sorely tempted to say I told you he was a better 7 than 9 for Wigan ).
He did go into 9 on the odd occasion but only when he spotted something on which IMO is when he's best suited there.
Been saying for weeks that I'm a big believer in Defence wins games HOWEVER in my opinion it's been our attacking structure on a lot of occasions (Pushing killer passes in the 1st couple of minutes in our own half ala Wolfs away & HKR away as examples) that's led to us being under more defensive pressure than we need to be.
I think we need to be a more patient in the 1st 20 mins of games and win the territory battle, do the hard work, play the percentages and put the other team under pressure to play catch up/suicide rugby in their own half rather than throw the ball wide and try and score at every opportunity early on.
I could mention our kick returns not been as good or the yards made by the wingers since Gellings not been in the team but don't want to stir up a Hornets nest!
Maybe Pat getting fitter will help in this area, maybe having Tommy in the team taking the pressure off Finchy to throw killer balls and wanting to dictate at every PTB too early will help which in turn means we get back to doing a bit of 1 up hard graft in the Pack and the wingers/centres?

| back on topic, it's a no lose for Wigan on Friday. He has a blinder he all that has been said will be forgotten. If he is dreadful he kisses goodbye to his Wigan career. Either way it gives the other front rowers more competition (Mossop for example). FWIW I hope he has a blinder.

don't forget Tuson is also missing. He's in danger of being the forgotten man, if he doesn't get fit soon.
