| We could do with a Soccer AM style show with Carney presenting it with a good looking female RL fan/presenter (anyone says Claire Balding needs their head testing)

Rather have more of a 'Footy show' style like in Aus. Carney presenting along with past and current players each week, most important thing is to pick the characters! Would give the sport a chance to interview people like Ferdinand on their views about our game. Have a different bad on each week etc. could be a great show!

| Scrap 'Boots n All' and have it on a Thursday night, get a band or a comedian toclose the show, get some RL fan/celebs like Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Rio, Rooney on and have a live audience.
Have competitions and get our equivalent of Beau Ryan or Matthew Johns to present something daft, have a tipping comp to raise money for some RL related charity where the presenters pick who will win in the SL rounds and lump some cash on each week. I could carry on all night but the Footy Show needs to be the blueprint as it will attract non RL fans and get them into the game rather than the boring outdated Superleague Show and Boots n All.

I prefer a 20 minute "stat attack" from our very own, silver sideburns, creaky necked, uber biased, pro Wigan agenda Phil Clarke
Finding out who made the least amount of marker tackles, whilst subsequently making the most meters per carry is what keeps me coming back for more.

It certainly works in business (Networking breakfasts..etc) and it can work in sport via social media.'"
I agree. People like Ferdinand and Rooney plugging RL does wonders for the game and is worth millions in free PR. It brings the sport to a whole new audience and gives the sport a lot of credibility.

| Quote: fleabag "That's an interesting point !
Legends like Alex Murphy argue that Rugby players are well paid (well the one's at the top are) but the amounts doled out to footie players is obscene. Mind you, they charge £70 to watch a match at some footie games. You can't take families to the footie (even if I wanted).
That's way out of the pockets of most ordinary people.'"
I think that's a short-sighted view from Alex Murphy to be honest. Rugby League players are, like most footballers, not public school boys with a sure route into the family business or papa's chums' investment bank, like a certain other sport we know. A RL player's career is generally even shorter than a footballer's. After their career is over they need to find employment for the next 30 years of their lives.
A top-level footballer (or even a copule of tiers down these days) at least should have a decent pension built up from his wages (unless he's deliberatly frittered it away of course).
By the time I was 35 I had 12 years experience of electronics engineering, so changing job at that age was easy for me. That's not the case for some poor guy whose experience is mostly knocking the sh*t out of other poor guys!
I'm not suggesting paying the guys £100,000 a week would be a good idea though, and I'm not sure the TV money would quite stretch that far!
