I am expecting a low attendance aswell. Even without all the messing about with the venue I still think it would have been the same.
Season ticket holders in the space of a few weeks will be shelling out for 2 rounds of the cc and then the magic weekend so a lot of people just simply can't justify paying so much in the space of a few weeks for watching the rugby, regardless of who its against.
Had the rounds been further apart it may have given more people chance to save penny's. I fear for the CC.

I agree. Especially with the highlighted bit.
EVERYTHING should be done to save and promote the Challenge Cup. It especially "hisses" me off when people on here say it doesn't matter. It does, people who don't know much about Rugby League still relate to The Cup. Sadly, the BBC seems to have got infected by people who at best don't know/care about our game, at worst they are anti Rugby League.

| It's current format is pathetic and is not only hurting the cup attendances but also has a knock on effect with the play offs because the semis and final are close to the start of those.
Add in how difficult and demanding it is to try and back up a cup win with a good play off run and it's as clear as day changes need to be made.
John Kear said they should switch the early couple of rounds to pre season. That way you get all teams having competitive warm up fixtures, the chances of upsets will increase and you've got people desperate to see some live rugby league after the off season.
Have the early rounds in Mid Jan and early Feb, the quarters in March, Semi's in April and the final in mid to late May. The crowds will go up, the system will be fair and the jobs a good un.....but we won't because the BBC decide when these fixtures are played not the RFL.

Have to agree Robbo, just done a quick calculation and for 2 of us ( 1 being a concession ) since 15/4/12 I have paid out approx £240 for tickets that includes CC 2 home games, MM day ticket, Fev away, Hull away, Hudds away and this week will be Leeds away, that's a lot of extra cash in less than a month, not counting season ticket cash for that period, think CC needs spreading out and not sure about MM but at least that will be a lot cheaper this year and no nightmare train ride back from Cardiff on a Monday morning.

Also the fact that we have played St Helens 7, soon to be 9, times within a year. The derby is certainly losing its prestige as a spectacle! Its difficult to hype them up (Good Friday excluded) when we play them so often

| I'll agree that Wigan Saints in the Cup is just too soon after GF(good friday ) and too soon before MM. Whether it will be a low attendance? Well that remains to be seen. This forum is just a snap shot of RLfans in general. Many fans do not post or read any message boards.
It could still be a good turn out!!
I'm all for compressing the CC competition. I'd also like a change to the format of MM, something more along the lines of a 7's tournement. Which would make excellent free to air viewing and get more people interested in the expanded game. Cricket had joy with this, using 20/20 to attract more and new fans. 7's would give a faster quicker game with more turn around and would mean crowds are more likely to stay in the venue and not just turn up for their team.

Over 9,000 sold -this is actually far better than I was expecting. If we can get 14k to 15k on the day with a weeks notice it would be a reasonable result.
Farcical scheduling though and not just in relation to the stadium issue. If the RFL scheduled the competition properly and this game was given a decent amount of time to build up to it, it could have been a terrific advert for the game on national TV with a full DW.

so the East Stand (from left to right, South to North) has Saints Fans to the left of the stand, then the usual Wigan Fans then more Saints fans to the right of the stand? i know the North is shut, seems a littel strange to split them up though?

When i ordered my tickets she asked if i minded being sat near saints fans and i said we are near the south stand? and she said they had been allocated the small block there so unless she was mistaken they have that block to

seems logical if they have sold all their allocation...next blocks in are full of ST holders, blocks in corner near north are usualy empty bar last minute pay on the gaters

| Are the majority of seats unavailable on the website as ST holders seats haven't gone on General Sale yet?
