Any chance of a ticket pricing system similar to the 'Big One' games to get a decent crowd in? A half empty stadium for rugby league's biggest game will look terrible on free to view TV.

Hmm. Seems Saints fans want yet another away draw in the cup to be reversed in their favour. As if having 78% of their Cup draws since 2005 at home isn't enough for them. |

As much as it would raise a chuckle in St Helens, I desperately hope this is played at the DW.
We've drawn Wigan away and it should be precisely that, or it makes a mockery of the tournament.
Having said that, am I missing something? Surely it will just be Friday night on Sky?

Not sure how it was back then, but nowadays the Beeb are trying to keep expenditure to a minimum all over, so just can't see them splashing the cash to go to France.
Having said that, if the match is being shown live in France anyway they could just have Dave Woods and John Kear sat in a cupboard over here commentating on it. No real need to send anyone over. |

If Wigan are unable to play Friday night because the games are determined by the BBC and therefore have to switch venues then this is just another aspect of a pretty lousy deal for RL from the supposed public service broadcaster.
I suspect any rugby club (of whatever code - Reading will be in the PL next season) would have to give priority to a premier league football fixture that was already in the diary.
