| Apart from a disappointing display from Silverwood, Wigan smothered the Catalans and never panicked, you always felt like they would boss and score and score.
Its a good work in progress and the development of both centres is gonna give this team a lift that it never quite had last year. Matty Russell is perhaps the missing piece in the attacking jigsaw, Wigan must be causing some coaches a sleepless night or two...

| Can it now be said that Wigan are now the most feared team in SL?

Not looking too shabby MB. All coming together nicely.

Last night can only have added to that. Putting the cleaners through Huddersfield and still missing a shed-load of conversions will not have been lost on many.
That said, I don't think the current Wigan team has really earned that status yet. Okay, everyone's allowed one blip - Graham Lowe's team's disastrous trip to Oldham in the Cup in '87 for example - but that Widnes fiasco really was unforgivable, especially as Widnes have since gone on to prove that they are barely fit to be called a Super League team.
As long as there is a mentality among the Wigan players that certain opponents don't merit much effort, then I'll always be nervous about whoever we play and other teams will still fancy their chances. For that reason, they're a way off being 'most feared' yet.

| I just keep thinking back to Warrington last year, and unless we do it in the business end of the season, we'll end up with a team that has done rag all throughout the year going and robbing off with the SL trophy!! I'm slightly concerned that we will burn out and run out of gas for the playoffs. This is why it should be a top 4-6 playoff series. Why should the likes of Leeds take it easy all season then only turn it on for 3 or 4 games to become champions, whilst you've got teams battling it out and tiring and playing good rugby getting little or no reward because they actually want to win games during the season?

| I dont think Leeds were taking it easy, if they weren't so bothered they wouldn't have been so dirty, nor did they want to be beaten with 50 on the board at home

We will not be out of gas at the business end of the season.
Supporters of other teams may like to refer to Wane as an ape (meaning not very bright) but Wane is a clever and savvy bloke.
I wasn't at Widnes due to being on holiday, but we were well in front at one time. It was the players that blew it not Wane.

Agree with this, Wane gets far too much stick for that game and as much as it was a brainfart and some more senior players should have at least be on the bench, the players he had picked had built up a comfortable lead and should have seen the game out. He'll learn from that and I doubt he'd do it again. I just hope it doesn't end up costing us top spot come the end of the season!

Agreed. The team that played was still good enough to win comfortably and it is the players who Wane had given chances to that let Wane down. Indeed they were winning easily on two occasions and were too complacent. Even the players themselves acknowledge this.
