Falling on the floor laughing at the naysaying from Warrington fans in particular on this thread.
Why does it matter to them so much, I wonder?
Wondering why it always seems to be Wigan at the centre of these big news stories?
Wondering if a time is ever going to come when Wire will be the team everyone is talking about?
Wondering if the rumour that quite a few of their players were seen boozing in a Wigan pub this lunchtime could actually be true?
Who knows.

| I can imagine Youane Turner spitting into the fire, looking at the u20 final dvd and looking for the Wigan overage first team players, and breaking into tears.

If Wigan win we will get no publicity for our sport at all.
If Saracens win it will be look how RU is so much better than RL b011ocks.
If the game goes ahead I will be shouting for Wigan all the way and hopefully show the union lot how to play proper rugby,I must admit I am tempted to go down to Wembley and start singing with the Wigan fans with my Saints shirt on,now that would be a first.
And that is why RL will be the greatest sport in the world. That is why this game needs to go ahead it is about publicity on a large scale, I bet if CJ is singing in his stains shirt with a load of Wigan fans wearing their shirts, that would in turn be the face of this match. That would show that you can go to watch a RL match without any risk of trouble.

| Great idea. The only rules you would need to change is only 3 men in a ruck or maul.Dont have line outs, its just a tap restart. Keep the scrums make them contested. Its 13 a side and off you go.

Hey don't worry about me. This is all comedy gold; this close-season's Bodyform Ultras mickey-take'athon. You shouldn't take yourselves so serious.
Is Gareth Thomas going to make a guest appearance for Wigan in the game? You won't have to pay him, apparently he's contracted to the RFL and they're paying him for the next 12 months
Anyway have you worked out which weekend in January this game is going to be yet? Saracens appear to have a full month of fixtures.

| I have said it before but the hybrid rules are so biased in favour of Rugby Union that any Rugby League side should refuse to play under them. Any Rugby Union team should beat any Rugby League team quite easily under those rules.

After that Barbarians game today I'm not quite sure why we're talking to Rugby Union about anything. There is certainly nothing they can teach us about playing rugby, and in terms of offering rugby as entertainment, our Under 9s could give them a university education.

I agree and thats why we should not play under those hybrid rules, they were dreamt up by largely Rugby Union people and it shows. A Union team should win every time and I would hate to give them some sort of supremacy by beating us, or any RL team, in rules that are much more suited to them.
I dont even really see why any League or Union team should pander to these cowboys/promoters, who are only interested in the money anyway. If it has to be done, and I really dont see why, then come up with better, fairer rules and by completely bypass external promoters who will only take a cut of the profits.
By playing RU rules in the attacking half it means that a League team has to score the Union way i.e rucks and mauls or score from their own half. How is this fair? In addition with the Union team gauranteed 6 tackles in their own half they can still work their way down the field and if they pass half way then can just keep the ball and score with their own rules. They are a joke.
