1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| Tomkins was provided with zero protection from his team mates. The first time Australia put a bomb up, with him left alone, it should have been addressed by the players/coaching staff. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| 1 up rugby all game, not one move put on all game, no offloads. Bascially we froze and gave the Aussies to much respect as always, we hardly moved up in defence and when we tackled they were never put on their backs, when they tackled they were all over us holding down.
Not one player can be blamed, we competed but we need a little more to beat Australia, I'm not bothered about the loss I'm more bothered about the progress and publicity RL in England could have made had we won.

BANNED, YOU.
Go and cry about it on the Whinos board like you did last time. I unbanned you last time because you grovelled and put you on a last warning, you've just lost it.
If you can't respond to something you don't agree without throwing an insult you need to grow up (I'm aware of the irony BTW).

| Quote: St pete "So it's all sinfield and wilkins fault?
Wilkin can be a big threat with being used on the inside. Hes not big enough to be taking the Aussies on down the middle SMS would end up like o'loughlin at international level by being put on his ass every hit up.'"
It wasn't all Sinfield and Wilkin's fault. Actually I thought Wilkin did ok today. He was average and it's the best I've ever seen him play at any level, by a country mile. Sinfield was poor, as was Chase.
As for Lockers, he's a great player and in an entirely different class to Wilkin.

| I said at the game that there'd be someone who would blame Tomkins for the defeat. Good to see that RLFANS doesn't disappoint.

I thought he kicked well, Wilkin and Chase both ballsed up a few kicks.

I thought it was one of the worst long kicking games I've ever seen from Kevin Sinfield, particularly long kicking...he wasnt getting enough length on them or turning the full back or wingers around. Lockyer and Thurston were doing this every time.

Isnt that funny! I new this thread would be up the minute he dropped/missed the bomb and didnt go the length of the field against the best team in the world. I also new the knives would be out for sinfield because he didn't crap a miracle everytime he got the ball under massive defensive pressure from the best team in the world.
It's all pretty pathetic really.

| I'm not blaming him in anyway for the loss tonight, too many players didn't perform, but surely this must put the 'best fullback in the world' talk to bed once and for all. The only way he could lay claim to that, is to go to the NRL and prove himself week in week out.

| Quote: LovesToSpooge "Cameron Smith what a joy it is to watch him play. I know Thurston gets all the plaudits, but when you really watch Smith in detail everything he does is exceptional. The rugby brain that man has is immense.
Why we lost? We got smashed in the forwards and as a result had little possession and field position, plus coupled with our terrible kicking game all conspired to our downfall. As for our backs receiving terrible ball, that was just a consequence of getting beat up in the forwards and being on the back foot from minute one.
Our inability to wrap the offload up from Aussies irritated me the most tonight. It's basic stuff that lets us down the majority of the time.'"
This is all spot on. I'd add that our kicking game was terrible because the Aussies, to their credit, pressured the hell out of it, while we let Thurston and Lockyer have all the time they wanted to choose where to put their kicks.
Too many otherwise excellent players (not just Tomkins, but also Ellis, Sinfield, Roby and others) had bad games for it to be assumed that the problem is anything but systemic.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Rubbish. In the same way Tomkin couldn't be effective what was sinfield supposed to produce kicking out of his own 25/30 Time and time again. When we did manage to get out of our own half he was under intense pressure from the best defence in the world pretty much everytime he got the ball.
Your post is based on agenda and not actually what happens in the game.
