| Quote: Northampton_Saint "Can't deny your support was utterly fantastic on Saturday. I never thought I'd see the day when Wiganners would stay to the end of a game and actually continue to make a racket to support a beaten team, but hats off to you for turning it 'round
Thanks for that.
But there are many of us Wigan fans who will stay to the (sometimes) bitter end, no matter what.
Cant deny that the 'B' name has led to much pee-extraction from fellow RL fans (and football-types).
BUT the effect has been just astonishing! Particularly away from home.
And if that fervour can ever get translated back to the JJB?
FORTRESS!!

Thanks
But could you explain how it is a "cliched gimmick"?

I told you we needed the song sheets!
Maybe something that could be developed next season? How about getting the lyrics of a few songs into the programmes next season? Would maybe get a few people singing. Not sure how the Dale Cavese would be written down though

| Quote: NickyKiss "Some very good comments about the Wigan fans from different players on twitter with Nick Fozzard giving probably the best.
He posted that it was an unbelievable effort from our lot and that we have a great team and outstanding supporters.
Nice to hear it from outside our own lads.
On a side note I saw 2 Wigan lads walking about a mile away from the stadium. Stu Fielden posted on twitter he picked them up on the hard shoulder and asked what they were doing to which they replied 'walking home'. They got a lift to Wigan from Fielden. Ha ha.'"
I bet these are the two we saw on the way back!
Some great comments, only been actively involved for the last 4/5 games, if you're thinking about helping out, just go for it! All help is appreciated and there's something everyone can do. Whether it be waving a flag, taking pictures of our displays, singing and dancing or as Dave suggested at the weekend you might know someone with an aeroplane who can trail a Brigantes banner at the back of it

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

They probably are!
Like you say, anyone wanting to get involved just do it!!!! You don't have to know anyone, Dave26, myself and 22-10 didn't know each other before the Brigantes and now we find ourselves going to the games together. Just join us!

Fielden said they were totally bladdered. I think it was Nick Fozzard who said I bet they were made up to get a lift of one of the Wigan players and Fielden replied that Satan himself could have picked them up and they were that blotto they wouldn't have batted an eyelid

| I think the Brigantes have done a great job this year specially with the chants i would love to get involved myself but my time is limited due to work.I spoke to a couple of the guys on saturday before the match about trying to help out with the flags so maybe i can do something to help build the momentum. The people i go to the home and away games with always join in with the singing but on saturday a couple of us moved across the stand at half time to stand with the Brigantes.Even though the result went against us we really enjoyed the athmosphere so we are now looking forward to next season when we are hoping to get the rest of the lads to join you.Ithink the idea of singing sections at the DW would be a great way to get more people involved and increase the volume.Maybe you could put the words to some new songs on here before the start of the new season.

The good thing about our support is not only is it as big as there is in rugby league it's now noisy but above all it's all just friendly banter. We could take 2000, 3000, 4000 fans to an away game and the police, pubs, shops, train staff etc won't have any problems between them. We give as good a backing to our side as any set of football supporters but don't feel the need to go round being a bunch of idiots.
That goes for the vast majority of rugby league supports around the place as well and it should always be this way.
Away days watching Wigan are great at the moment.
